Aiden P.O.V.

There was a brief knock on my office door before it opened. "Hey baby." Ace walked through the door with a bright smile on his face. I put the papers I was holding down immediately and focused my attention on him.

"Hey kitten." I held out my hand so that I could pull him towards me to sit on my lap. "How was your day?" I kissed his cheek briefly before settling my hands around his waist.

He laughed. That was a good sign. "Today was pretty amazing actually. The kids look great. I'm so proud of them. They have such amazing talent. I don't have any worries about them competing this weekend." He turned to me worriedly, placing a hand on my chest. "You're still coming right?"

I feigned disappointment. "Damn it, I forgot."

He went quiet and he looked so sad that I couldn't hold it in. "You know I could never forget something like that. Of course I'm coming."

He pushed off my chest and made the attempt to stand up, but I kept him where he was and nuzzled my face into his neck. "Stop it." He whined, but I could tell by his voice that he was smiling.

"I'm very proud of you. You know I'll always support you and I can't wait to see the kids. I'll also be there in March for the national competition, in April for the show to watch you try out, and since I know you will do absolutely phenomenal, I'll be there for every single performance you have after that up until I watch you take your trophy."

He tuned around again, glaring me down with a smile. "Thank you."

My eyes floated down to his lips and I couldn't help but steal a kiss. "Of course."

He looked towards my desk. "What you been working on all day?"

"I've been on the phone with August practically all day. He's finally coming around. I still don't know what's wrong with him, but he seems like he's back to normal. Knock on wood." He knocked on my table for me, making me smile.

I started stroking his arm. "What about Mason?"

"He also seems to be back to normal, but I have no idea what was going on with them even still. I'm trying to get him to open up, but he says he's okay and I believe him. I'm sure I'll find out soon."

He was silent for a moment before becoming shifty. "What's going on? What're you feeling?" He went still before bursting out into laughter.

"I'm sorry."

I bit his shoulder gently. "Stop it. What is it?"

"I can't say it out loud. It's too embarrassing." His cheeks were turning a bit red, which was cute.

"Oh, it can't be that bad kitten." He tightened his legs and suddenly, I became very aware of what type of situation he was in. "What's going on?"

"I just...I know this is a different office in a new house, but I can't help but be reminded of the last time I was in your office and you were teaching me about..." He trailed off, the red intensifying.

I knew exactly what he was referring to, but I wasn't sure how to play this. The setup of my new office in our new house was extremely similar to the last one. I made it that way on purpose. There were no bad memories there, only good ones actually, and I liked it just the way it was. It was a little bit smaller now since the house was smaller, but it was still somewhere I could think and easily contain my work.

"Aiden?"

I broke out of my thoughts. "Sorry. You just got me thinking, kitten. Is that something that you-"
