"Ace?...Ace?" There was a hand on my shoulder. It didn't feel like Aiden. Wait, I was at the recreation center. Why would it be Aiden?

I blinked myself out of my thoughts to find a concerned Tyson staring back at me. He was Aiden's head of security. He stared a lot, but I found that was because he knew me from before I lost my memory. I tried to be nice to anyone who knew me before because I knew this was weird for them too, but Tyson was surprisingly easy to talk to. I didn't have to force myself to be nice to him.  He was extremely level-headed and you almost never knew what he was thinking, unless you were paying enough attention. "You've been spaced out for a long time Ace. Is everything alright?"

"No." I cringed. I was such an idiot. "I mean, yes. Sorry."

He wasn't convinced. I wouldn't be either. "Ace...what's going on?" He waved his hand in the air. "Impartial third party here."

I snorted. "Yeah, right. Aiden's name is on your checks and you consider that to be impartial?"

He shrugged. "Yeah, I mean, on paper I guess. But you're my boss too. Just...off paper."

I tilted me head towards him. "Tyson, did you talk to me before I lost my memory?"

"What do you mean, 'Did I talk to you?' Of course I talked to you."

I rolled my eyes. "I know we were friends. That doesn't mean you talked to me."

He smiled. "I think that's the definition, but you're right. It was mostly you talking not me." He scanned the front of the building closely, something he did about every 20 seconds. "But that's something I regret." The air grew serious. "You were a light in a lot of our lives Ace. You're the reason I..."

"What?" I wasn't trying to fish for a compliment. I really wanted to know what he was going to say.

"You're the reason I was open to finding a boyfriend of my own."

I gasped. "Tyson, no way! What's his name? What's he like? How'd that happen?"

"His name is Nathan. It happened some months ago before you...you know. He is beautiful...a head of curly hair like nobody's business. He's sassy. Not as much as you, but enough."

I nudged him. "Hey, I'm not that bad."

"Ace, you could go toe-to-toe with anyone on their best day and I admire that about you. I'm glad that part of you hasn't changed. Watching you and Aiden go back and forth," He turned to me. "not in a bad way, was one of the most entertaining things to see. I think Aiden was so used to having his way and then you came along and changed all that. I didn't quite understand until I understood. I hope you both are able to figure this thing out. I know it's hard. I mean, I can't even imagine, but the world losing the two of you together? That would be a shame."

"Well, I think you'd be happy to know that we have a date tonight and I have no idea what to wear or do." I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, thank God." He sighed, a look of relief on his face. He was so dramatic. I couldn't imagine that he had been like that before. "Although...I can't help you with the last bit, but you know who can."

"Mason?"

He nodded. "Mason."

Mason, better known as Mase by me, was one of my best friends. Apparently, the same was true before I lost my memory. He was at the hospital quite often before I was released and he caught me up on a lot of the little stories that Gigi didn't even know about. He was hilarious and was always one of the highlights of my day. I opened up my phone and shot him a quick text.
