A/N: A new player has entered the game! This chapter will be centered around Logicality.
I huffed as I adjusted my glasses, currently working on my homework before I had to leave for my classes. I happened to share both classes I had for the day with Patton, causing the extroverted one to walk with me all the way there, and back.
But to be entirely honest, I didn't mind.
It was mildly amusing to listen to his rambles about the symbolism of roses, or the ideal way to water a plant. It also took my mind off my work, which, despite my love for school, was relieving.
Eventually, I finished the simple math problems I was given the previous day, and tucked the paper into a folder for safe-keeping.
My back ached from sitting at my desk for hours, but I had gotten used to it after awhile. Side-effects of being a workaholic..
I popped my back satisfyingly and grabbed the folder and my bag, walking out of my room, already ready for the day in my typical black polo, and navy tie.
Patton sat at the kitchen's island, sipping a cup of tea while reading something on his phone. I recognized a hibiscus flower on the small screen, coming to the conclusion that he was researching flowers again, which reminded me of when I helped him with his studying the other day.
I smiled slightly, but cleared my throat and put back on a neutral expression.
Patton whirled around upon the unexpected noise, dropping his phone onto the countertop, calming down when he saw me.
"Oh! Good morning! How'd you sleep?"
I hummed slightly, pulling a mug from the cupboard above the sink. It was pretty standard, but had some sort of dad joke on the side I decided not to read. It must be the other male's that was sitting only about two feet away.
"Good morning Patton. I slept quite exceptionally." Of course, that was a lie. I woke up at three that morning to study and do some work. I ended up studying longer than I should have, but at least my test scores would be quite satisfactory.
He smiled at me and I felt something in my chest, but ignored it and went on making my coffee, with a minuscule amount of creamer and no sugar. Patton was humming the tune to Steven Universe on the island, which I recognized from when we watched it about a week ago.
The coffee machine finished and I pulled the mug out of it, sipping the heavenly beverage and feeling myself wake up slightly.
I looked at the time and blinked in surprise to find I was slightly later than usual. I wouldn't be late to my class, but I wouldn't have time to sip my coffee calmly. At least, in the dorm like I had previously planned.
I sighed and pulled a portable coffee mug from the same cupboard as the first, and poured the contents of the previous mug into the second. Patton noticed this action, and took it as a cue to grab his bag.
...
"I wonder what Roman and Virgil are doing right now.." The other male mumbled beside me in thought.
I hummed and sipped my coffee as the other continued beside me, looking lost in thought. I looked over at him, and raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Probably something related to theatre, given they are in theatre at the moment."
Patton coughed slightly and looked away, with a embarrassed smile. "Oh, right! I almost forgot."
I forced myself not to smile as I looked at my feet with a neutral gaze. This man would be the death of me, with his rambles and his adorable smil- I didn't just think that.
I felt myself blush slightly and prayed Patton wouldn't notice, but he continued to bounce along beside me, as I sighed in relief.
We made it to our class shortly afterwards, after a short walk that was fairly quiet. Patton sat beside me, per usual, in the middle row of seats. I like being engaged but preferred to stay further away from most people in the front. Patton was most likely just following along.
...
Our final class wrapped up for the day, and I walked beside Patton, who was asking several questions about the science lecture. Eventually, my temper got the best of me, and I burst out (exasperatedly), "would you just like for me to tutor you?"
He smiled beside me as I took in what I just said, and tried my hardest not to groan.
"Of course! I'm not very good at science so- Wait! Can we start today so I don't forget? Iforgetstuffallthetime-" He continued his ramble the entire way back and I frowned mildly, scorning myself for not biting my tongue.
I opened the door to our dorm to find our other two dorm mates in the kitchen, the shorter of the two fuming while the other smirked back, about two inches away from him, leaning down and smirking. I assumed it was a flirt on Roman's part, based on his and the other's current body language.
Patton gazed with a small smile on his face as he looked at Virgil, who visibly had a blush on his face, moving through his foundation and eyeshadow.
I'm not sure why, but the action made me slightly annoyed.
I shook my head as Patton grabbed my arm, mumbling a quiet, "let's leave them be."
I nodded as he dragged me down the hall and we went to my room. I was slightly confused until I remembered the tutoring I had promised and prevented a groan from escaping.
I set my bag down on the floor beside my desk and pulled out the science homework and the textbook to accompany it. Patton looked around my room for a moment, almost in awe. He blinked a couple times and took a step through the door. "Where should I sit?"
I hummed as I glanced around the room, ultimately deciding on my bed, and nodding towards it as I sat at my desk, allowing him to spread out his papers. My desk was also next to the bed, so we could talk just as easily.
...
Patton groaned as I explained one of the questions on the assignment, now sitting on the bed beside him. I had been showing him how to do one of the questions, and moved to the bed so I could help him out.
I was soon interrupted by the door being practically slammed open by Roman, who smiled widely at the sight of us beside each other.
"When you two are done in the bed, me and Virgil bought some food." Roman glanced between us with a smirk, leaning on my door frame.
I blushed darkly and gulped. "Correction, it's Virgil and I- We'll be out in a moment."
Roman left the room after the statement, giving one last, powerful smirk.
I rolled my eyes and looked away, packing my papers up into my bag.
Patton looked extremely confused with the obnoxious man's statement, but didn't comment. I cleared my throat and adjusted my tie as he gazed at me in confusion, almost like he wanted an explanantion.
I just cleared my throat.
We got up and went into the living room, quietly, where Roman and Virgil were seated at the couch, eating pizza and conversing over something I didn't recognize.
I looked over to Patton who turned to me and smiled widely, making my chest tighten up.
"Thanks for helping me on the science Lo!"
I blushed slightly, not enough to notice but I could feel it.
I didn't regret offering to tutor Patton anymore.
