A/N: Virgil's painting is above. It's the Hadestown album. Great musical btw, go listen to it if you haven't already. It's by far my favorite. There are spoilers of it in this chapter, and swearing.
Yeah, I actually told him. Yeah, I know it's customary when you first meet someone. I kind of just wanted to mess with him.
It was pretty petty, I know.. But I also really don't care.
He's already learned quite a bit about me (nothing important though) so I might as well give him my name.
He probably had some weird nickname for me in his head, now that I think about it.
I'm painting in my room as all these thoughts circle around in my head. The painting was almost done, except for a few different touches here and there. It was the Hadestown album.
I decided to paint it for two reasons, it was the play we were doing this year, and I wanted to paint the cover of every musical we did in University. Two, I just loved Hadestown.
I've already said it, but it's my favorite musical. The tragic ending makes it have a darker element, and sets it apart. So many musicals have happy endings, while this ends on a sad note. The music is also older-sounding. It is amazing to listen to, and completely different from my usual music choice.
Believe it or not, I actually really like jazz. I learned that through Hadestown. I started listening to Big Band jazz after finishing the musical, and have listened to it since.
It's relaxing to me, and I listen to it while working, drawing, writing, and just plain chilling.
The rest of the time it's rock bands though, my favorite being MCR, but P!ATD is a close second.
I just like music in general. Actually, art. I don't play any instruments, but if I had to choose, it'd be bass or bari-sax. They're just so low and fun to listen to.
Past art though, I don't really have any ability. I can't dance well, I suck at sports, I barely know how to swim, and I'm just plain scrawny.
So art is really my only strong-suit. But I don't mind.
I looked at my now finished painting and smiled, setting my paintbrush down in the cup filled with brushes of other sizes and the water forming an extremely dark red.
I left my room, turning off the faint swing tune in the background and walking to the kitchen to grab a snack. As soon as I opened the door though, I found Roman with his hand ready to knock.
He looked slightly surprised as I raised an eyebrow at him.
"I was- uh.. I was just going to ask if you were coming to dinner with us?" He scratched the back of his neck and looked away.
I shrugged. "Sure. Why not?"
He looked at me happily and stepped out of the way so I could leave my room. I closed the door behind me and we walked over to Logan and Patton by the door, having a subtle conversation and turning to us.
Patton broke from the conversation, and I noticed that Logan seemed slightly disappointed, but I blinked and he was back to his usual self, void of emotion, making me believe it was my mind playing tricks on me.
"Hey guys! Let's go!" Patton chirped and I smiled slightly.
We left the dorm and I walked in the back with Logan. He had his arms crossed behind his back, and his posture was still terrifying.
"Hey Lo, what classes you taking right now?" I asked while looking directly ahead.
He hummed for a moment. "I'm currently majoring in Engineering. I have no minor at the moment."
