Virgil huffed, straightening his script in hand. They were in theatre, the last class before Winter break started, and with it, the Winter dance.
Needless to say, he was slightly panicked. Having to recite lines in front of a crowd and expect apparent doom the next day weren't a good combination.
Roman nudged Virgil with his foot, breaking the emo's train of thought and pulling him back to the present. "W-who are you?" he stammered, looking down at his script. Luckily, the stuttering fit the line.
The other, who had seemingly managed to memorize most of his script already, responded to the line swiftly. "The man who's gonna marry you, I'm Orpheus."
Virgil suppressed a blush, knowing it was just a line. Although, it seemed like something Roman would say to anybody while flirting. "Is he always like this?" he said as he turned to the other young man on the side of the stage, who happened to be playing Hermes.
After receiving the simple confirmation line, Virgil turned back to Roman. "I'm Eurydice." The name hadn't been changed to fit the male playing the role, since they wanted to keep the character the same.
Roman bowed slightly, one of his gestures in the script. "Your name is like a melod-" The line was cut short by a prompt clap from the side of stage. The actor grumbled and closed his script, which hadn't been needed too much.
Thomas stepped out, nodding to Roman apologetically for interrupting. "Amazing day guys! Unfortunately, class ended two minutes ago. See you all after break!"
Virgil sighed in relief. He enjoyed playing the role, but was exhausted. Roman grabbed his and the other's bag, handing it to the emo promptly. "Tired? Maybe you should get more sleep."
Virgil, in turn, rolled his eyes and took his bag with a nod of thanks. "Will you ever stop commenting on my sleep schedule?"
Roman tapped his chin in thought as they left the auditorium. "When you start sleeping," he stated after the moment of dramatic thought.
The two college students reached Roman's car quickly, resorting to the automobile because of the cold weather. "I refuse."
Roman sighed and shook his head, starting the car. "You wanna do that dance lesson later? We haven't done one in a while."
Virgil nodded eagerly, almost too eagerly and flinched internally somehow. "Y-yeah. I'm down."
Roman nodded slightly back, thinking of the dance the next day. He wanted to ask the emo beside him to go as his date but decided to instead- possibly- ask at the Valentine's Day instead. Though it would kill him to wait that long, Roman was a sucker for cheesy romance.
The drive back was boring and slow, the only thing discussed being when they would do the dance lesson. They opted to set it up as soon as they got back, and go from there.
...
Virgil looked up at the ceiling while Roman was fiddling with a record player off to the side of the room. The emo had argued they didn't need music, but was ignored.
And so he stayed on Roman's bed, grumbling. The man who owned the furniture rolled his eyes sarcastically, flicking the top of the record player shut and standing up. "Are you going to stay grumpy and mope, or actually get up?"
Virgil huffed and stayed where he was, burying himself in the pillows. "Now that I think about it, your bed is quite comforta- HEY!"
Roman had promptly picked the emo off the bed, dropping him on the floor in front of him, softly. "As much as you need a nap, do that in your room FalloutBoy."
