Virgil gulped thickly, taking a step backwards into a wall, hardly noticing the pain in his back from the panic he felt. This was all so stupid, why had he agreed to come here?

      He hated dances. So why...?

Of course, he already knew the answer: because Roman was the one to ask and it was hard to say no to him.

But still, Virgil stood alone all the way at the far side of the gym, glancing to the door and back to the dance floor where his friends were, unseen in the large crowd of college students. The emo bit his lip and spun on his heel, pulling his blazer around him and leaving quickly.

...

A/N: This goes back to before these events, so it'll be explained.

Virgil turned his head lightly to the side, checking his makeup. Usually he'd put on foundation and eyeshadow, that's it. But today he decided to use eyeliner and a bit of chapstick too because why the hell not. If he was going to a dance, he'd like to at least look better than he usually did.

The eyeliner was basic but a big step for him, so the emo checked it over at least thirty times before actually leaving the bathroom. He was already in his blazer with his hair done slightly better than usual, instead of being the wild and mildly curly mess it usually was.

Roman and Logan were already sat on the couch, one having been ready an hour ago because he was way too excited, while the other was just low maintenance. You can probably guess who is who.

Upon Virgil's entrance, Roman looked up and waved before looking back down at his phone. A wave of realization must have passed over him though, because he suddenly blushed lightly and whipped his head towards Virgil. "Wait. You used eyeliner!"

Virgil nodded and scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. "Yeah... does it look okay?"

Logan raised an eyebrow at Roman with a smirk, but it was ignored as the dramatic one nodded profusely. "Yes! You look amazi- Good. You look good," he corrected.

Virgil suppressed a laugh, and sat on the opposite side of the couch, waiting for the dad friend in the dorm to come out. It was about five minutes before he did, but a similar conversation went between the nerd and the bubbly man in a dress.

"Y-you look quite exemplary Patton," Logan croaked with a warm face.

Patton chuckled and did a small twirl-esc movement. "Aw, thanks Lo!"

The nerd just nodded and avoided eye contact by keeping his head down at his phone, reading an article on astronomy. Both of the other two in the room found this funny though, and suppressed laughter.

Roman looked down at his phone, checking the time and smiling widely before getting up. "Time to go gang! We're meeting the other three weirdos there."

Virgil quirked an eyebrow and managed to elbow the man, despite being across the couch. Roman let out a small noise and huffed. "To be fair, we're weirdos too."

Logan nodded in agreement. "You three, yes. I am not a 'weirdo' as you would call i-"

Roman cut him off with small noise that signaled disagreement. "Nope. You're a weirdo too, now come on!" the dramatic man said before striding towards the door. It wasn't particularly fast walking, but his height made it seem as such.

Patton and Virgil scrambled to catch up, the latter of the two almost taking a tumble but catching himself. Logan was the last to follow, not having to scramble like the other two since he was close to Roman's height.
