Conall Wolf

25) First date

Conall sits nervously in his cabin. Everyone left for the lunch and he was left alone to wait until it was time to go to Hogsmeade for his first date. He keeps rubbing his hands and looking at himself if he looks good. Even if it wasn't a date which meant something, even a date which he hated, he still can't show up as if he just woke up. It was after all his first date ever.

Out of nothing he takes his pillow and he screams into it. He hates it that his first date needs to be ruined for such a stupid reason. He keeps remembering the words of his friends when he told them what he had to do. They said that he is crazy for doing this, and that he is doing something completely wrong. Roselyn immediately started that it was unfair for Brigitte, because he is giving her false hope right now. She insisted that he needs to tell her that he is gay, but Conall immediately shut that conversation down. He can't tell Brigitte that he is gay, then the plan is ruined.

Luckily Thierry understands Conall and he helped him. The tournament is just really important now, and this information is crucial. Faolán was a bit in the middle, he agreed to both. He finds it unfair against Brigitte, but he also realises that they really need to know this information so they have some good information about the next task. Roselyn got pretty angry and Conall had to avoid her for a long time because every time he wanted to makes things right she just cut him of, and walked away.

Conall is now sitting at the side of his bed and he looks outside. He made the plan of going to Hogsmeade to the Three Broomsticks. He only needs to spend a few hours with her, and he knows that the woman that is running the Three Broomsticks is really kind so maybe she can safe him if it escalates. He just needs to see it as hanging around with his friends, but only with a different name.

His encouraging words aren't helping and he looks at the clock, he sees that it is time and his stomach turns. He wants this to be over as quick as possible. He jumps of his bed and goes out of his cabin, going with his hand through is hair. He sees Brigitte waiting in the middle of the carriage and he swallows. He sees that she did her best with her outfit and looks, and if he likes girls he would say that she looks absolutely outstanding. He walks a bit clumsy to her and she giggles soft when she noticed that.

"A-are you ready?" Conall asks while he doesn't come out of his words. He has no idea why he is so shy at this moment. He doesn't love her, and this means nothing. Then why is he so nervous?

"Hey there, you look cute." She says while she giggles.

"Thanks... you to?" Conall says a bit hesitated and he sees that Brigitte noticed that. He sees she is disappointed from his reacting and she lowers her head. Conall always sensed someones mood and he realised he fucked up with saying that, and for some reason that feels really bad. He swallows and shuffles a bit with his feet.

"Well... uhm... should we go then?" He tries to attempt. She only nods and then they start to walk towards Hogsmeade. In the beginning it was silent, and Conall didn't like this silence. He tries so hard to come up with something to talk about, he doesn't want it to be a really awkward time. He is still doubting about breaking the ice with something random, or talking about the situation.  He thinks it is better if he does not avoid this so he takes a deep breath.

"I am sorry... for everything that just happened... my wrong choice of words, the awkwardness... I just don't really know how to act." Conall says and he looks down, not daring to look at her.

"Apology accepted... is this you know, your first date?" Brigitte asks.

"Yes it is." Conall says and he now dares to look at her. He sees that she is looking a bit scared at her, but when he says those words she relaxes a bit more.

"It is also my first date..." She says carefully. For some reason this doesn't make Conall feel any better, it actually makes him feeling worse. That his first date isn't something he was expecting is one thing, but giving her a false first date is an even worse feeling. He can see that she really wants to do this good, and he now realises what Roselyn meant. He is really using her.
