The world of Thunderbirds. Thunderbird 5 monitoring from space, John reading another space rocket commence launch, with course programmed and set for the moon.

John:

Another XK rocket headed for the moon for surveyance. Boy, they're sure populating the moon fast.

The XK9 rocket lined up on its launch pad. The siren beginning to sound. The crew of the XK9 rocket on its way to the moon is almost ready for takeoff. All systems are green for go. Inside, with the shuttle pilot, three older male scientists. Eccentric, curious, and gentle. Their features of glasses, white spikey hair, moustaches, with their notes and diagrams, coupled with the rest of the technology of the ship, highlights this further.

Shuttle Launch Controller:

Control to XK9, you are ready for takeoff.

Shuttle Pilot:

Thanks Controller. We will see you several hours from now.

Shuttle Launch Controller:

Set countdown.

Shuttle Pilot:

T minus thirty seconds.

Dr. Rimmer:

Ready Dr. Bell?

Dr. Bell:

Standing by. How about you Dr. Glanville?

Dr. Glanville:

Ready to go.

Shuttle Pilot:

All systems are green for go!

The rocket waits for lift-off, itching to blast up into space.

Shuttle Launch Controller:

T minus fifteen seconds... T minus ten... Five, four, three, two, one...

Shuttle Pilot:

Ignition!

KABOOM! The rocket fires, gently launching upwards into the sky with clouds of smoke pouring from the blast. It soars into space. It launches out of Earth's atmosphere. It finally blasts out away from the Earth.

Shuttle Pilot:

XK9 to base, ETA to the moon now fifty minutes. Will commence scan and survey on arrival.

Shuttle Launch Controller:

Roger XK9. Over and out.

Dr. Rimmer:

Dr. Glanville, if you could load open the map of the moon then we can take a glance of where our first locations will be.

Glanville activates a button where a screen is lifted from the floor and lights up in front of Dr. Bell, displaying a schematic of the moon and the Lunarville moonbases.

Dr. Bell:

So. Our ten Lunarville moonbases. Nine if you overlook the disaster of Lunarville 7.

Dr. Glanville:

What was the cause behind the destruction of Lunarville 7?

Dr. Bell:

From what I gathered from rumours, self-destruction of the complex.

Dr. Rimmer:

To our mission now gentlemen. I think it would be a suitable location perhaps to investigate would be in the section near the Humboldt Sea, where an unauthorized moonbase was constructed in Crater 101.
