Two lives lost
Two candles extinguished
Two people now dead
Two families in anguishTwo years have passed
And given two more?
Is it possible a third life will head to deaths door ?Who will it be ?
Who elise I grieve ?
An acquaintance,
A stranger,
Someone dear to me?How many people will have to die,
Before our tiny town finally decides
That bullying is not a game or a lie
That its real and and it hurts and it's caused suicides? When I look into my little sisters eyes
I see two of her friends who have now died
I see two funerals
Two years of healing
Two new scars that she'll never stop feelingThey'll scab over,
And grow rough
As she toughens up
But while the pain may fade
Nothing will ever be enoughTo truly erase the things that were done
To take both the bullets out of those guns
To bring them back and give them seconds with someoneI would have given up anything for twenty more seconds
Twenty seconds to call them up and change their minds
Twenty seconds and they may not have died
If twenty seconds was all I could give
Those twenty seconds might have made those kids liveTwenty more years,
two hundred more tears,
twenty things learned,
Twenty things earned
Two thousand people that wouldn't have cried
If I had just twenty seconds with those
two kids who died.But I don't
And I wont
Because no matter how much
Or how little I'd give
No matter how many mountains I'd climb or rivers I'd swim
The dead don't return
And our school doesn't learnHistory will repeat itself if you let it
Nature itself has some nasty habits
If you don't change the sequence the pattern repeats
And if we don't change our actions then two will be three
