things that annoy me in band

I'm a percussionist so most of these are going to be percussion things that annoy me.

Having to stand

Couldn't they at least put chairs in the back when we're not playing?

The good instruments never get enough attention

The saxophones and trumpets always get the most attention at my school because they're really bad. And then the flute section gets hardly any attention even though they sound the best.

When tuba players empty their split valves in the percussion section

Ew.

people who hate my band teacher

My band teacher's really cool but everyone is really rude to him and doesn't like him. stupid band kids.

No one ever acknowledges the xylophone or bells as an instrument

Xylophones never get any cool parts or the melody :(

Saxophones and trumpets always get the melody

Why don't they give flutes or low brass more melodies? Or here's a crazy idea! Why don't we give the clarineits or the french horns or the bells the melody? WHAAAAAT?? That has never happened before in music history! Why I've never thought of that ever! That is so crazy!

Trumpet players

Just trumpet players in general. But just the one's that go to my school. I don't know what it is but all of the trumpet players that go to my school are horrible. Not just in band but outside of band too. Seriously, I only know one Ok trumpet player. All the rest are terrible.

And the one thing that annoys me the most in band is................

People who play the percussion instruments who aren't percussionist

If you've ever been in band you know exactly what I'm talking about. Those people who randomly tap the snare drum as they walk by or even worse: when they stand there and play them for a couple minutes. And guess what section does it the most? Trumpets. The main reason people are in the percussion section is because that's where they're instrument cubbies are and they need to get their instruments. But trumpet's instrument cubbies aren't by the percussion section. So they INTENTIONLY go back there just to play the percussion instruments! And when they play them they always act like they're so good at them too. No no no. STOP IT PLEASE! I don't go around touching your instruments so don't touch ours.

Wow. I never realized how many things annoy me in band. Sorry if I offended anyone. Especially trumpet and saxophone players. It's only the ones that go to my school that are bad at their instruments.
