Ch. 40

I was watching an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians when Zach returned from the shower. He came and sat on my bed with me and we watched the episode in silence. That was until my phone rang. I quickly got up and grabbed it off my desk and looked down at the caller id. Sam was of course trying to FaceTime me. I sighed and walked back over to my bed sliding the answer button.

"Hi babe." He smiled.

"Hi."

"I miss you, what are you doing tonight?"

"Um Zach and I are just watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians right now." I said lying back down on my bed.

"Why is he still there?" Sam said clenching his jaw.

"Because we're friends and I want someone to hang with."

"You know you're so lucky I love you."

"Oh but Sam you're the lucky one."

"I'm thinking of picking you up Friday morning and bringing you to the airport."

"That's so out of your way Sam. You would be coming down then going back up. I'm fine, really Zach or Leah is going to drive me."

"No I want to."

"But I'm not letting you."

"Alright babe well just text me. I'm going out for dinner."

"Alright. Love you."

"Love you more princess."

I hung up and leaned against Zach.

"What a piece of work." He joked.

"Shut up. You have to tell me, what's up with your love life?"

"Nothing really I mean I like this one girl but it would never work out."

"Aw tell me!"

"I can't."

"Zachary pleasee." I begged.

"If I tell you whats in it for me?"

"Maybe I can set you up with her."

"I'm telling you it wouldn't work out." He said running a hand through his hair.

"Well tell me about her."

"She's absolutely beautiful. I love when she laughs and smiles and she deserves everything in the world. She has beautiful brunette hair and faint little freckles running over her nose that she tries to cover in makeup but she's so gorgeous that she shouldn't wear makeup. When she cries I die a little inside and just want to beat the shit out of the person that made her upset. She's short but it's absolutely adorable and I can't stop thinking of her. She's everything to me and I-I can't help it."

"Zach she sounds amazing. You're obviously crazy about her. Do something about it."

He nodded his head and looked down at his hands. He looked up at me and grabbed my face and gently kissed them. I froze. I didn't know what to do. He backed away and I looked anywhere but his eyes.

"Meg I'm so sorry. I-I don't know got into me but god damn I'm falling for you again and I need you to say something."

I stayed silent thinking of Sam and only Sam. How will he react? Is he going to hurt Zach? Will he break up with me?

"Megan please say something."

"I-I need time to think." I breathed.

"I'm so sorry. I'll leave. I'm going to check on you tomorrow though."
