It was late morning, so the sunlight was strong as it streamed onto Diego's car in the driveway of the Hargreeves' home. Diego stared out at the windshield.
Madison got out of the car, her eyes locked onto her daughter, Paige who waved down at her mom from her bedroom window. Paige turned and disappeared from the window.
The sound of an engine running caught Madison's attention. She turned; a frown etched onto her face as she saw how tightly Diego's hands were gripping the steering wheel. Madison leaned down; her arms rested onto the windowpane of his car door.
"Diego-"
"I-I-I," he stammered out. He shakily inhaled. "I need to go see someone."
"You're coming back, right?"
Diego tore his eyes away from the windshield, his brown ones met his wife's blue eyes. Diego leaned forward, kissing Madison's lips. Madison cupped his cheeks with her hands, deepening the kiss.
"Mom!"
Madison pulled away and stood tall, a smile broke out on her face as Paige stood on the porch, waving.
A smile broke out on Madison's face as the front door opened, Paige came running out.
"I'll be back soon," Diego promised Madison softly. Madison stepped back, her arms folded across her chest as Diego pulled out of the driveway and drove down the street.
