Chapter Twenty-Six: Something So Much More

Lily Evans was a complete idiot.

A really, stupid idiot, her brain mocked her. Who in the right mind would demand a boy to take her to the ball? Well, obviously she wasn't in the right mind when she demanded him. She acted like a jealous idiot. It only took one word from him and immediately her mind assumed the worst. Did he say he was going to the ball? Cleary it meant that he was taking some bimbo. Not like he was planning on asking her. Idiot!

She couldn't help it, as soon as her mind pictured him taking someone else to the ball, the green  monster in her had roared in protest. Next thing she knew, Lily was accusing him as if he was cheating on her. Lily’s mood soured. He would have to be dating her in order for him to cheat on her. They only kissed three times, and she fell asleep on him, twice. Oh, and she cried on him, and he cried on her…

Not exactly what Lily could call a relationship.

Were they friends? Mates? Something more? More importantly, did she want it to be more? Its was true that she found him abnormally attractive. What with his high cheekbones, messy dark hair, mesmerizing eyes, a really nice body… Wait, what was Lily talking about?

Something about her being an idiot… Oh yeah! Now she remembered. Okay, she really needed to get her hormones in check before she jumped the poor boy’s bones. Or kicked his ass. Or both; not necessarily in that order. Anyway, she couldn't have made the fact that she fancied James more obvious if she had made a big banner saying so in the middle of the Great Hall. Jeez, she was so stupid.

Stupid, arrogant, good looking boy that made her to be stupid!

She rolled her eyes, Merlin she was so subtle with her emotions. Luckily for her, James was dense when it came to the opposite sex (he really was, he didn't even know what exactly went down during a woman’s time of the month and Lily had to explain it to him after she had punched him for eating her chocolate. Once she finished, he had this disgusted look on his face and they he hugged her telling her how horrible and how amazing it all was and how are you not dead Lily?)

With warm cheeks, Lily voiced her thoughts to Alice, some other girls, and Remus as they went shopping. She excluded the whole how hot she thought James Potter was because she knew that Remus would bug her till she died of embarrassment.

Remus was still smirking without the knowledge, “I know Lily, you really were obvious about your feelings. If James wasn't as thick as he is, he would know. The only thing he does know is that he’s taking you to the ball because you kinda-sorta asked him to ask you.”

She responded, “I don't know, I just got really angry at the thought that someone else would go with him to the ball. I saw red.”
