Chapter 19

(Minnowkit's P.O.V)

It was now sunhigh and the latest patrol was returning it was time for our ceremony!! Excitement was thick in the air in the nursery, everyone was in a good cheery mood especially after Hollypaw, Ashpaw and Brindlepaw visited. I shuffled my paws with anticipation, this was the day I had waited moons and moons for, this was my day! Nothing could ruin it, until.

A large golden tom pushed into the nursery, his green eyes somewhat emotionless, it took me a moment to realize this tom was my father. It seems like I hadn't seen him forever, I narrowed my eyes at him now he finally decides to visit?

"Oh Sunray" Leopardspots purred rushing to her mate's side, he smiled.

"Hello" he licked her head yet somewhat gingerly. "Hello Dustclover" he called to the other queen.

"Hello" Dustclover nodded her head.

"Come kits! Your father came to visit, say hi" Leopardspots meowed.

"Hi dad!" Mousekit purred rushing to Sunray's paws, Littlekit walked to my side and I rolled my eyes he didn't seem so pleased either. Me and Littlekit don't have much in common expect the fact we both can't stand Sunray and his fake attitude around us and mom, Mousekit for some reason adores him. 

"Minnowkit, Littlekit come" Sunray commanded after spending a few seconds with Mousekit. 

Both me and Littlekit reluctantly padded toward him, he smiled cockily as if he were proud he had control over us, oh how I wish I could smack that grin off his muzzle. 

"This is a very happy and proud day of any" he paused "father" he seemed to taste the word in his mouth and it came out oddly. "You'll all make fine warriors, some of you more then others" he trailed then smiled. 

I could hear Dustclover snorted angrily and bristle in the background, his comment made my blood boil too! Was he referring to me and Littlekit? I stared at mother in outrage but she seemed moony eyed over Sunray, I growled. 

Before I could crazy at Sunray and Leopardspots a loud yowl rung out around the clearing and instantly my excitement was back with a rush. 

"Let all cats gather beneath the Snow Rock for a clan meeting" Hiddenstar yowled proudly, I could here the cats rushing to sit under the large rock and suddenly with those words mother was brought back to the real world and she began fretting. 

"Oh no" she meowed through licks as she began to groom our fur "Remember head high, chest out, you'll do great" she purred. 

Sunray was already gone from the den and Dustclover was attempting to stand with the weight of her swollen belly but we all managed to make it into the clearing, Dustclover found Blizzardchaser in the crowd and he aided her and bathed her in licks. 

Mother licked our heads one last time and pushed us forward as we walked into the center of the clearing, in the crowd I could see Hollypaw, she looked as happy and excited as I felt. Then my gaze traveled upwards to Hiddenstar, his black and white pelt glimmering in the sunlight and a deep fondness shone in his bright blue eyes. 

"Today is a proud day for Iceclan, we have three kits ready to be apprenticed and exciting news" Hiddenstar meowed, some of the cats in the crowd looked suddenly curious over the 'exciting news' "First before the ceremony Robinsong has something to say" Hiddenstar meowed, I raised an eyebrow confused and a little angry. 

I watched as my desired mentor clambered laboredly up the Snow Rock beside Hiddenstar, she caught her breath quickly and with the help of the black and white leader got settled on her paws.
