Chapter 16
(Hollypaw's P.O.V)
Me and Ashpaw spent some of the afternoon chatting about old memories of mother, it made us sad but at the same time happy that we got to know her so well, I remember her telling me that some kits mom's die before they even open their eyes... Those stories always made me so sad.
"Hi" a voice interrupted mine and Ashpaw's conversation, I looked up and locked eyes with Krestelpaw.
So many confusing things rushed through my mind, did she hate? Was she only hear to beat me up? But then why did she save me in battle? Ashpaw stiffened slightly as if he didn't know what to do, neither did I.
"Hi" I replied ducking away from her gaze, she sighed then looked over at my brother.
"Could we maybe speak alone?" she asked, I sucked in a breath of unease but decided that I must face my fears some day.
I looked over at Ashpaw, his ears flicked nervously and his eyes betrayed his relaxed expression and protrayed nervous caution, I nodded some what confidently at him and he backed off toward the apprentice den.
"So?" I meowed, my voice flattering.
"Um well, I wanted to apologize" Krestelpaw meowed, kicking a clump of snow.
Shock erupted through me along with caution, what if she's joking or if things never change? Krestelpaw most have noticed my concerned and hesitant expression and she dropped beside me.
"I know you may not forgive me... Trust me I wouldn't forgive me either" Krestelpaw huffed "But I really wanted to say sorry for everything"
"I- I mean you did save me in that battle" I trailed, she nodded but continued to stare at her paws.
As much as I really wanted to forgive Krestelpaw and continue living as friends I wasn't sure if that was possible, I mean so many bad memories have been connected with her and a bad black cloud seems to cover any good things I could possibly see in her.
"But I'm not sure we could become friends... at least not right away... but I do accept your apology" I meowed honestly.
"I understand, I just wanted to say something" she sighed almost in relief, then stood.
"Hey, if you don't mind me asking" I meowed "Why?"
"Why, what?" Krestelpaw asked confused, turning her head.
"Why say sorry?"
"I got a stern talking too from a kit" Krestelpaw joked and pointed her tail to Minnowkit who was tossling with her brothers.
I laughed, Krestelpaw smiled then padded away to her mentor. Ashpaw quickly bounded toward me, an odd twinkle in his blue eyes, clearly he wanted to know the gossip.
"So what happened?" Ashpaw asked, I shrugged not really sure but I suddenly felt a little bit better.
"I don't know-" I meowed but I got caught off by the sudden hustle at the entrance of camp.
"WOAH! Is that Amberstar?" Ashpaw exclaimed instantly focused on the crowd gathered around entrance.
Amberstar? The Stormclan leader? My gaze locked onto her and her patrol being escorted by Whitemist, Brindlepaw and Stormbreeze, I wonder why the Stormclan cats are here?
"I'll grab Hiddenstar" Stormbreeze meowed then padded toward Hiddenstar's den.
"I'll get Robinsong" Brindlepaw meowed excitedly then bounded away, two other warriors filled Stormbreeze and Brindlepaw's places beside the Stormclan cats.
