IRENE

I opened the door of Klaudius' room. What greeted me is a bloody sight that will stay inside my mind forever. It is Klaudius wiping blood off of his shirt with Jean lying beside him.

"What are you doing?!" I shouted as I observed the scene before me.

"W-wait, it wasn't me! I swear with my life! I just woke up with her in front of me!"

"Then why is Jean over there and full of blood?" I said as I pointed Jean's body with my trembling finger.

"Please believe me! You know I can't do this to Jean." He said with pleading eyes.

"Then what's your alibi, huh?"

"I-I can't remember anything I'm sorry." he lowered his head.

"See! You can't even prove it! I don't know what to fucking believe anymore!" I massaged my temple as I try to decipher what is happening. Klaudius wouldn't do this, right?

"Irene you knew me since then I-" I didn't let him finish as I walked past him.

I approached Jean's body and inspected it. I saw something thin that caught my attention, it is a strand of curly black hair and it is 4 inches long. I averted my eyes at Klaudius' hair, I examined it and it was exactly the same type and color.

"Is this your hair, Klaudius?" my lips won't stop quivering as I ask him.

"Yes, but it's not me who did it, I can't do that specially to Jean 'cause she's our comrade and I know to myself that I'm not the one who killed her." He tried to explain his side but he does not have anything to prove. I want to believe him but I also want to bring justice for Jean's death.

"You kept on saying that you wouldn't do it but the evidences clearly point out to you! There is even a baseball bat beside you! And it has Jean's blood for goodness' sake! How do you expect me to believe you know, huh?!" I heaved a sigh as I try to calm myself. The door swung open and Yin immediately greeted us with a smile. His smile faded when he saw the corpse on the floor.

"What happened here?" Yin asked in worry. He looked at Klaudius and immediately grabbed his collar

"You bastard! You did this, didn't you? I thought you were an innocent emo boy but I guess I'm wrong, huh?" I tried to stop them but it is no use.

"How about you, Irene? Are you an accomplice?"

"No, I'm not. I only caught him looking like this. More importantly, where have you been?" I raised a bow at him

"I went to the pool."

"Since when?"

"After classes, why are you even asking me this?" his forehead creased at my question. I glanced at his hands but there were no wrinkles found. If he really swam since our dismissal, there must be some wrinkles on it. But his hair is a bit wet, is he saying the truth?
