"Okay," Tyler said, "You see how I'm standing?"

MJ had gone to school early to try and find Jeremy Gilbert, but neither he or Elena seemed to be there yet, so MJ had found Matt and Tyler, and was finally letting them show her how to throw and catch a football. She had her camera and was filming Tyler's demonstration, something he was enjoying a lot, flexing to make them both laugh. She was also taking a few photos of the school.

"It's rugby," She stated bluntly.

"No, gross, that's England," Ty shook his head.

"And, like...the rest of the world," she did a dramatic zoom in on his face

"You know rugby, but you don't know football?" Matt asked.

"I know soccer," she shrugged, "And I've been taught how to get tackled."

"Your knowledge is random and unhelpful," Tyler declared.

"I'm a quick learner," she put the camera back into its case, then her bag, "I'm sure I'll be at a satisfactory level for you in no time,"

She snatched the ball from him to toss it up to herself. After it came back to her hands, she threw it to Matt.

"Not too bad," he smiled.

He returned it and she caught it without flinching, which was progress, "See, Tyler, getting there already."

"Yeah, and maybe one day you'll be somewhere near my level."

"Please," she tutted, "You're the one who'll be trying to keep up with me, I assure you."

"That right?" he raised a teasing eyebrow, "You got good stamina then? Good to know."

"Don't make it gross," She dropped the pep from her voice and threw back to Matt, who was glaring subtly at his friend.

Matt passed to Tyler, who passed back to her.

"Look..." Ty pointed, "There's Elena, and her new boyfriend."

She couldn't tell if Tyler just liked starting fires or if he genuinely thought he was being a good friend to Matt by making jabs.

"What are they doing? Oh! They're walking, walking, walking...yep, right into the sunset,"

"They're high schoolers," MJ contradicted, "No high school relationship actually ends with walking into the sunset."

Especially when one of them was only pretending to be a high schooler and keeping a huge part of his identity a secret.

"Still. He's probably getting some, while Matt here is –"

"You're a dick," Matt declared.

"Very true," MJ agreed.

"I'm just telling you how it is!" Tyler defended, "They're over there, walking and talking, while you're standing here like one of those little yard trolls."

"Gnomes," MJ corrected.

It was clear Elena and Stefan were arranging some kind of date given that they seemed to be looking at a calendar on one of their phones.

"What am I supposed to do, Ty?" Matt grumbled, "She made her choice."

"Let her know she made the wrong one," Tyler said firmly, catching the ball Matt threw a little too hard at him.

"That's actually a pretty good idea," MJ had to admit, "Moping like a kicked puppy won't do either of you any good."

"And she agrees with me!" Tyler cheered.
