I was busy doing a Case Fill Rate Report when Rose moved her swivel chair beside me.

"Cat," she called while doing something on her phone.

"Yes?" I replied, my eyes still fixed on the monitor.

"Busy ka?"

"Medyo. Bakit?" I remained focused on typing and analyzing the data.

"Mag-out tayo ng 5pm. Nakapag-book na ako sa Rockstar KTV."

"Pass pala ako today. I have plans tonight," I said without looking at her, though I could already sense the frown forming on her face.

"What plans? This is already in our schedule."

"Hindi ako makakasama mamaya. Next time na lang." Her frown deepened. It was payday Friday, after all, and as usual, we were supposed to spend the evening singing karaoke together.

"Hay naku! Cancel your plans. I blocked everyone's schedule two weeks ago pa, and no one rejected," she said, clearly annoyed.

"But I didn't accept. Sorry, pero importante kasi iyon." I finally looked at her.

She only glared at me before standing up and walking away. I sighed and turned my attention back to my computer.

My phone suddenly vibrated.

I glanced at the screen and saw a message from him.

My lips automatically curved into a smile as soon as I saw his name.

*See you later.* I gently bit my lower lip to stifle my grin. I quickly replied with a simple *See you* before returning to work.

Wala pang sampung minuto mula nang umalis si Rose ay bumalik na siya, this time with Charles.

"Cat."

I looked up. He was smiling as he approached my desk, while Rose stood behind him with a knowing grin.

"Hindi ka sasama mamaya?" he asked.

"Hindi. May gagawin kasi ako mamaya."

"Hindi kaya i-postpone?" he asked again.

I shook my head.

"We'll leave the office at exactly 5 PM. Kahit hanggang alas-siete ka na lang?"

He flashed me his charming smile—the kind that could probably make any woman say yes without thinking twice.

"Please. Hindi masaya kung wala ka," he added.

Akala niya naman madadala ako sa ganoon. I glanced at my watch.

Sabi ni Ken, mga alas-otso pa siya makakarating sa bahay. Kailangan ko pa siyang ipaghanda ng pagkain.

"I'll take that as a yes. See you later."

Charles winked before walking away.

Rose looked at me with a victorious smile. Pagbalik niya sa seat niya, she leaned closer and whispered,

"Kunwari pa ayaw. Gusto lang pala na si Charles ang pumilit sa kanya."

"Talagang tinawag mo pa siya." I said, giving her a side eye.

"Effective naman di ba? Pumayag ka."

"Hindi ako pumayag." I denied.

"But you didn't say no to him too. Meaning, sasama ka." I didn't answer her. I just went back on finishing my work para maakalis kami ng saktong alas singko.

Baka liparin ko na lang mamaya ang BGC to Alabang.

I kept checking my phone for the time and waiting for a new message from him.
