Much to her happiness she had gotten herself a front row seat at Baelishs trial. She sat and smiled with a few deadly smile.
When Sansa and Bran had spoken she had gotten to her feet.
"Did you honestly think I would allow someone like you to manipulate the children under my protection? You killed the woman you loved. I know you didn't plan on her getting murdered too. So what should poor Littlefinger do now that all his ambitions of isolating Lady Catelyn from all other people were for naught? You turned to the next best thing. Her daughter that looks just like she did in her youth. You helped her, then left her to be hurt. Helped her, then sold her to be broken. Helped her and counted on her being insane enough from Ramsay Bolton's torture. I figured out it must have been you while still in Kings landing. And I know it was Lady Olenna and yourself who poisoned Joffree and with that set off Tyrion Lannisters trial that let to My friends skull being crushed like a pumpkin by an immature little boy." Noah circles him, always keeping her eyes on him. "I wish I had set the Lannisters onto your trail. I wish I had the time to watch them call out that the hunting season for Mockingbirds has begun. But I had decided to try and if necessary break Sansa out of the Bolton's grip myself... Well... Not completely on my own." The growl behind them has her smiling widely while it makes the man grow ash pale. "Arya and Sansa thought it would be best to cut your throat with the same dagger the cutthroat had used to try and kill Bran. The same dagger I used to turn that man's face into an unrecognisable pulsing, bleeding, twisted lump of flesh. The dagger that you owned. I thought different. You play a game. So we shall as well. Guess how many bites it takes for a wolf to devour a mockingbird?"
The man whimpers. "Please.." he falls to his knees and pleads. But to no avail. While the men watch Noah walks back over to the Stark children. "Say the words, my sweet."
Sansa's lips pull up into a satisfactory smile while that of Baelish turns more and more fearful.
"Prometheus."
The humongous wolf glances at her.
"Feast."
That was all that was necessary. The jaws lock around Baelishs head, crushing his spine and tearing the head off, swallowing the pained, fearful scream.Soon enough Prometheus's snout is covered in blood and no part of Baelish is remaining but the little broche on the ground. The mockingbird.
"Well done, Prometheus.", Sansa speaks and the wolf leaves the hall.
"I am proud of you.", Noah says gently and the three young Starks feel even better than before at her words. She looks towards the ceiling. Satisfied.
"Winter is here for the North remembers."Noah had been surprised by Jon's return, despite her knowing it would happen sooner or later. It was quite a show, really. She had never truly liked the character of Daenerys. The Targaryen had always had this certain edge to insanity to her that she couldn't appreciate no matter what and for the life of her, even with her being a very bisexual person, she had never seen the appeal in her that Jon seemed to see. But she knew him better than to think love would be duties death.
After Bran, Sansa and Arya she had been the first thing he had spotted. "Mother." It had become a casual thing for the people of Winterfell to hear him call her such, yet it appeared to confuse the Dragonborn and her people. Stepping over into her open arms with long strides he lifts her off her feet in an embrace. "Are you alright, my son?" He steps back a bit and smiles. "Perfect now. You do know of Daenerys Targaryen. She came to fight with us." "Good. The long night is coming ever closer.", Noah says, brushing her thumb over his arm. Turning to the silvery blonde she gives a slim smile, as Jon keeps his hold on her waist. "May I introduce the woman who took me in as if I were her own? This is Noah Mars. Keeper of books, teacher for the Stark family and Royal advisor to late king Joffree. Mother.. this is Queen Daenerys Targaryen." Daenerys hast narrowed her eyes. "You have been an ally to the Lannisters?" "Lady Mars sold her intelligence and service to assure my safety as I was kept hostage at the Red keep by the very people who slaughtered my father and then my brother and mother. Her loyalty to house Stark is unwavering. In fact it is her who risked her life more than once to assure our safety.", Sansa cuts in, a deadly glint in her eyes. "It is alright my sweet. Don't worry yourself.", Noah smiles, before turning back to Daenerys. "My loyalty stood with the Starks the moment my feet first touched westerosi soil. I will do anything in my power to protect them. Now and forever. And what I deem best for them I will do." Noah knew this was important. Important because it would be what would prove Jon's innocence once she would be gone. "Where were you when Ned Stark was executed?" "I was caring for Lady Catelyn Stark and Robb Stark. Though the sadness overwhelmed me and I decided to travel and find Jon at the wall." "Where were you when Robb and Catelyn Stark were slaughtered?" "I worked on establishing a plan to replenish the food in kings landing while assuring Sansa's safety." Daenerys looks at her. "She saved our mother when a cutthroat tried to take my life after I had fallen. She killed him. She saved Arya when she brought her to a save passage to Bravos where a friend would care for her. She saved Sansa and Jon from the Boltons. She has ridden at the very front and defeated Ramsay Bolten on her own in a fight of one against seven with the archers that he had set on her." Bran speaks up and Noah shakes her head. "It is fine, dear. The dragon queen may think of me what she wants. I do not necessarily care. Kings and Queens and Lords and Ladies... I never liked the thought of nobility." "You could have been our sister in marriage if you did." "Indeed. I could have. But I am not. I am with you because I want to. Not because I need to. And that is a good thing."
Every man and woman who knows her nods fondly at her words.
"You can trust her.", Jon says as Noah's grey blue eyes pierce the amethyst ones of the dragon queen.
"I will not harm you or anyone as long as you don't pose a threat to the Starks. Such is not your intention I believe. Therefore you do not have anything to fear from me."
Tyrion Lannister steps to them. "She never harmed Joffree either. Even if I wouldn't blame her if she had."
"You don't arm children. Never. Under no circumstances. How is he responsible for his parents being siblings? Incest produces weak, unstable minds and or malformed bodies. It was one or the other. What can the boy do to make that better? Nothing. As easy as that.", Noah shrugs. People exchange glances. "How do you know it is true?" "All Baratheons have been born with dark hair. It runs strong in their blood since the beginning of time. Cercei's children are blond. And the only male she lets close to her is her twin brother. Go figure. That and I heard them fuck right beside their sons dead body." Noah shivers as the men chuckle. "Ned Stark truly wasn't a traitor. He always was a man of honour." "He still is. Remember him as such."
"He helped in a Rebellion against the crown!" "He helped because his sister who was betrothed to Robert Baratheon was wisked away by your brother and as a good brother he wanted her safe and sound. He found her dead. You are southerners. I can not blame you. But here in the North Family, Loyalty and Honour are still valued above all else. I do not doubt Rhaegar knew what might happen when he chose her and not his wife. That and your father was dead set on setting the whole capital aflame to feel alive again. Robert Baratheon was a good ruler to these people. A good and just king. Only very drunk and sometimes an embarrassment but still a very good king. Better than some Targaryen rulers for certain.
I do not trust you or your men. But I will accept you. If Tyrion Lannister chooses to support you he must see something in you that he deems worthy enough to give a good life in peace to the people of Westeros. Since he is a friend of mine, and so is Varys, I will trust their judgement."Noah holds the glare. "I could have you executed." "You'd unite Westeros against you. And loose your most important ally of Dorne for it was me who helped them pave a way to avenge Oberyn and it was me who buried him. He was my friend. The best friend I've ever had. That and I am sure that another friend of mine would decorate my grave with your head on a spike." "Oh yes. Who would it be?" "Someone without a name.. or a face." Arya grins to herself. The faceless man had always spoken of Noah fondly. He would kill for her. Like most men would. But she knew better than to believe she'd die at all.
"You know the faceless men?" The servant next to the dragon queen asks in shock. "I know them. Yes. In fact to get her out of Westeros I send Arya to train with them."
"Who are they?" "Assassins, my queen. The best there are. They can become other people. Every face of a dead person sacrificed to the faceless god is theirs. They have walked under more names than a person can remember. They themselves are no one at all. What once was a man or a woman became so many that there is only no one left." "I couldn't have described it better myself.", Noah says. The Dragonborn looks at her and steps close. "Why did you service Dorne?" "Because Prince Oberyn Martell was my friend. The closest one I've ever made. We spent weeks together on end during the wedding preparations in kings landing. Even when I was working he'd sit with me in my office. We'd talk about everything that concerned either of us. I trusted him with all the secrets and every emotion I kept hidden. I trusted him with my life. And one day when you march on Kings Landing I will be there and I will kill Gregor Clegane myself for killing him and killing his sister, his nieces, his nephews." Noah's eyes glow with hatred as she speaks out the name.
Daenerys looks at her intensely. "I appreciate your honesty... They said you were a royal advisor." "Yes. For internal affairs. Not for war. But yes. That and I was the one who King Joffree would come to if he was unsure about a decision no matter about what."
"Advise me then."
Noah blinks, then nods slightly.
"I will advise you for as long as your stay with any of the Stark family is. I can only repeat myself and others here. My loyalties are with them. But I will help as far as I am able."
