bakugou sighed softly as the wind blew softly, it was so peaceful. it was a peaceful night really actually. the moon was shining brightly out, the waves were splashing softly against each other. it was a nice night out.
"katsuki? is that you?" he heard a soft voice from the water. he looked up from the moon, then looked toward where the voice had come from.
there he saw a familiar silhouette being illuminated by the moonlight.
"yeah, it's me." he confirmed.
"eeee!!" you squealed as you swam over to him, your (favorite color) tail flapping happily behind you.
you swam over to the wooden docks, where he was standing on.
"i missed you!" you held your arms out for a hug. he smirked then leaned down to give you a hug. you wrapped your arms around his neck then accidentally pulling him into the water.
you were excited to see him. a little too excited though.
"sorry." you apologized. "i didn't mean too." you told him.
"i know." he told you as he moved his wet hair from his eyes. "why didn't you come to the rocks earlier like you said you were? i waited forever for you!" he didn't want to sound upset but he was honestly.
"mmm..." your mood had changed instantly as your lips went into a straight line when you thought about earlier in the day.
"i had to do princess stuff all day, i'm sorry." you started to swim around him in a circle. "my dad had every guard in the castle on my ass too, so i couldn't even get away!"
you stopped swimming then wrapped your arms around him from behind. you lifted yourself up a little then kissed his neck, making him blush.
"but finally during dinner, i escaped." you stopped kissing his neck. "they should've known better to leave me alone for just a few minutes." you whispered in his ear.
"everybody's probably looking for you." he chuckled.
"the whole castle probably but i don't care." you shrugged your shoulders at him, you started swimming again. you couldn't stay still for long.
"i gave them my time earlier and my parents upset me too!" you huffed.
"what'd they do?" he asked as he pulled himself out the water, then sat down on the dock ladder.
"they-" you giggled as you looked down then noticed that a few small fish had crowded around you. "oh hi cuties." you waved at them even though you had no idea who they were.
bakugou watched as you interacted with the fish. you looked like you were glowing blue under the moonlight.
'she's so beautiful.' he thought to himself.
"bye-bye!" you waved to the fish as they swam away. "i would kiss you all but i'm saving my kisses for someone special." you winked with a chuckle.
"who are you saving it for?" bakugou smirked.
"none of your business, mind your own." you joked as you stuck your tongue out at him.
"you never answered my other question though. what'd they do?"
"oh right." you remembered that you were in the middle of talking to him. you looked at him, the smile that was once on your face was gone.
"they made me meet with a lot of suitors." you sighed softly. "they're looking for me to be married in the next two or three years." you rolled your eyes in annoyance.
bakugou felt his heart fall into his stomach. you, the love of his life, get married to someone who wasn't him. he didn't like the idea of it at all, but he didn't say anything. he stayed quiet though his face expression say something different.
"i don't want to get married though!" you splashed the water with your hand, your eyebrows furrowing. "not unless it's to you anyway." you looked up from the dark water, then looked up at him. he looked at you as well.
"i love you and only you!" you declared, pointing your index finger at him. that caught his attention. "and i keep telling them that i'm in love with someone too!"
"w...what do they say?"
"they want to meet you! but if they knew i had been coming to the surface and had been seeing a human! and then fell in love with say human, HA they'd never let me out of their sight, they'd keep me locked up in my room. i cant even begin to think about what the queen — my mother would do!" your eye twitched, when you thought about your mother.
he looked back down at the water.
"i still wouldn't care though." you dived under the water, then swam over to him. you emerged from the water, your E/C eyes meeting his red ones.
"i love you and that's on that, im not ashamed either." you grabbed his wet hands. "if i get punished for that, then so be it." you shrugged your shoulders.
"are you ashamed of me?" you titled your head.
"why the hell would i be? my girlfriend is a fucking mermaid princess." he proudly said with a smirk. "a hot one too."
"you think i'm hot?" you teasingly smirked.
he grabbed your chin then kissed your lips softly. you wrapped your arms his neck (careful not to get too carried away and pull him into the water), then kissed him back.
"i love you."
"i love you too."

"is there a way for me to be like you, princess?" he asked quietly as you swam away.
you heard him, but you kept swimming. tears burned in your eyes as you disappeared under the water.
