When you woke up, everything was sore.
You tried to remember what had happened to you. You only remembered what fighting was, what weapons were, languages, Madame B, and Fedor Bram.
And honestly, you didn't care.
You were in a grey room with a toilet in the corner and a bed opposite of it. There was a metal door that had a small opening for food, but no handle for you to escape. Of all the places you could have been, it could have been worse. But you didn't know of anything better.
You wore a black catsuit with no weapon holder.
The door opened, and you immediately jumped to your feet.
"Good morning, Soldier," Fedor greeted.
You said nothing, you just stood with your hands clasped behind your back and your feet spread apart.
He handed you a ration of bread, which you shoved into your mouth as he gave you an update.
"You will be working both with HYDRA and the Red Room. HYDRA will work on enhancing you, and the Red Room will be working on your fighting technique."
You stayed silent with a blank expression on your face.
"Follow me, Soldier."
You were escorted to Madame B, who gave a slight but intimidating smile.
"Put these on," she said, handing you a pair of pointe shoes. You were incapable of not following orders, so you tied the pointe shoes around your ankles.
This was new to you, but you didn't care. You had to be able to adapt to things. That's what HYDRA and Red Room desired you to do.
"See those ladies? Follow their footsteps," she said. Then whispering in your ear, "Do not fail."
You walked over and went up on your toes. You almost grimaced from the slight pain that hit your toes, but you danced through it. You knew that you had never done this before, but something about it you just knew how to do. Other girls, who had been doing this for hours now, had bleeding feet that had seeped through the satin pink shoe. Your toes had become numb; you couldn't feel any pain.
You felt deadly and powerful. You embraced the feeling, loving it. Confidence would help you later on.
Hours went by. You all kept dancing, Madame B keeping a close on all of you. One by one, the girls dropped out. Madame B would frown a bit, and then have two strong men carry them off. You didn't know what would happen to them, but you assumed they had the SKH gene also. They failed and must be eliminated.
Soon, you were the only one left. You couldn't feel any pain; you just felt numb. You had no feelings whatsoever. This was your job, it must be done correctly.
"At ease, Soldier," Madame B commanded. You immediately rested your feet. Your toes were wet from the blood and your whole body ached.
"Well done. You have qualified for the next set of tests that will be run by HYDRA."
~~~~~~~~~~
You were placed in a metal chair with some stains of blood. But you weren't scared. If anything had happened to you here, you couldn't remember. Just like one of the scientists told you yesterday: if you had feelings, you were weak. Love was for children.
"The SKH gene makes her stronger and smarter. If we inject this serum into her, her senses will be elevated. She won't have powers, but her capabilities will be elevated," one of the scientists explained to Fedor.
Fedor seemed satisfied, but one thing seemed to be missing. "I want a weapon. Can we make her immortal?"
"Immortality is impossible. But we can make her immune to certain things. We've been giving her small bits of special serums we've created in her glass of water every day. We haven't been able to make her immune to bullets or weapons, yet. We don't have the right supplies."
Fedor, wanting more, leaned closer to the scientist. "What do you need?"
The man gulped. "If we somehow harness the serum that Tony Stark made, we can give her small doses at a time. After a certain amount of doses, any bullet that hits her should dissolve the minute it hits her skin. She would be invincible."
Fedor smiled. "Maybe a small dose would be better. We still need her to be able to hold things without them falling apart, but if we can make it specific to just bullets and weapons, that would be perfect."
The scientist nodded. "Yes, sir. But how do we get the serum?"
Fedor smirked, looking at you. You were ready to comply with anything he said, so you were on your toes.
"We have just the thing. She's young and will blend in New York. After these serums, she'll be ready."
"This quickly? Our Black Widows take years to train," Madame B interrupted.
"Yes, I believe so. The Soldier is ready. Give her the serums and insert a tracking chip under her skin towards the back of the neck. Tomorrow, I'll give her the mission rundown."
A needle was inserted into your arm, and you let out a guttural scream. You hated that you showed weakness, but Madame B and Fedor didn't seem fazed. It must be normal for your body to feel like it was on fire.
It also must be normal for a scientist to make a small slit on the back of your neck to slip a small tracking device inside and then sew it back up.
"Mr. Bram will be able to send you everything you need to know about a mission through that chip. It makes everything much more efficient," the scientist told you.
You gave a slight nod, your body still on fire.
"Now you better rest up," he said, gesturing two guards over to escort you to your room. "You don't want to fail on a mission. Not unless you want to end up like them," he added, pointing to the dead people being studied.
"Be ready for Mr. Bram. I believe he is hoping to make this a late-night mission."
"Yes, sir," you said, standing up and allowing yourself to be grabbed by your arms by the guards.
You had a mission tonight, and you weren't going to fail.
