The Homeless Santa Chapter Thirty-Eight: The House

"So before we leave this place and head back to well home, is there anywhere else you wanna see Nicholas?" Janine's voice was heard, as the visualization soon changed to that of what appeared to be a diner, with Janine, Desire, Nicholas, Nicole and Kit all seen gathered around at a booth with different plates of food.

"...Actually ...yeah I was thinking about this ...I wanna go see my old house." Nicholas explained as Nicole appeared concerned; with Kit shaking her head and adding.

"Are you sure about that? I mean ..seeing your home back before the.."

"I'm aware of that... but ...I still, I wanna see who bought my old house...if it looks the same, or if it's completely different....just ... I feel like it should be something I see before we leave." Nicholas stated as Janine sighed a bit; with Desire soon adding.

"...Alright, if you wanna go see your old house then we'll go see your old house." And with this, Nicholas nodded; as Janine looked over towards Nicole adding.

"Do you know whoever may have bought it?"

"...Me and Nicholas lived kind of close together... but after the whole situation rose up and he fled the area..the house remained pretty empty...I think mostly homeless took shelter in it; after a while, it seemed like someone else moved in ...but they never tried making contact...so I'm not sure who it was.." Nicole stated with a shrug, as Nicholas soon added.

"I hope they'll let us talk to them and see the house."

"Yeah, well we have to figure it out I guess." Desire stated with a shrug, as Nicholas shook his head; while Desire could see he appeared to have more on his mind, causing her to squint her eyes a bit; while she shook her head, and added.

"...I know your disappointed in Richard for running ...I'm ..sorry he did." And with this, Nicholas looked over shaking his head and adding.

"...Nah, it's okay...I mean it's like how can I exactly blame him for doing the same thing I DID?...he was facing jail time, perhaps even being killed in jail for something he never intended to happen, so of course, he would want to run he's technically innocent." And with this, Janine nodded adding.

"Yeah, now we just gotta hope he isn't found." Before taking a drink of her water, with Nicholas shaking his head; as he added.

"...I don't know about that, but I do hope he isn't." Before taking another bite of his food, while Desire could tell something else appeared to be on Nicholas's mind, but she wasn't quite sure what- she figured of all things it would be the situation with Richard and running, but he seemed ...she didn't know, it seemed like there was something different, something she couldn't quite place her mind on as to what was bothering Nicholas, but she tried not to dwell on it as she began to eat her food as well along with everyone else.
