The Homeless Santa Chapter Eight: Brother Claus.

"I don't think the target was Noami ..." Kit stated shaking her head, as Nicholas appeared confused shaking his head as he added.

'Wait, I thought you just sai-"

"No, look ..here's my thinking...Noami and your friend Richard dated some time ago in high school after they broke up- Richard thought that was the last he had seen from her, as time progressed and you and Noami started your relationship, Richard was shocked and jealous ...he wanted Noami and he didn't understand how come you got to have her... as time continued on...he ..well let me ask something ...when you and Noami were together, did she see your drinking and drug usage?" Kit asked cutting him off, as Nicholas tilted his head before he soon added.

"...A little bit ...when we first got together but shortly thereafter is when I decided to get clean and sober ... she was one of the reasons..in fact..."

"Oh, she was?" Desire asked as Nicholas shook his head.

"I thought you said it was the fact you stole your sister's car." Kit added, with Nicholas shaking his head as he added.

"There were two reasons..that, and Noami's attitude towards everything...she and I often got into fights...you know when I was using, and for good reason, I was a complete mess when I was...anyway, another thing that affected her was because most of her relatives had drug issues when she was growing up ... she told me she saw drug problems..take out people in horrible ways, and she didn't want the same thing for me...so you can imagine her joy and excitement when I said I was getting clean, and she was even happy to help whenever needed."

"Alright ... so look maybe Richard wanted to drug you in order to break you and Noami up?" Desire asked as Nicholas looked over towards her- while he appeared shocked it seemed, as he soon added.

"So...wait you're saying he drugged some of my food, so that when Noami came to pick me up ..I was going to be in some kind of drugged state, she would have thought I relapsed and in the process broken up with me, all because he was upset we were together?" And with this Desire and Kit both nodded a bit, as Kit soon added.

"I know Richard is your friend, and you don't want to imagine him doing any of this stuff to you- but come now, Nicholas...you said he was the only person who handled your food, he knew about your drug problems and he must have known about Noami's history when it comes to drug use and how she felt towards it ... so the perfect chance to break you two up was that party...Ricky's bachelor party.."

"..Okay, but you mean to tell me he was THAT broken up about the breakup, he wanted to break up OUR MARRIAGE?" Nicholas asked rather angrily it seemed, as Desire shrugged a bit before she soon added.
