The action begins! Hopefully writing and the ice pack I have will distract me from the pain in my back and arm...I fell down the stairs a few seconds ago. I'm fine, though, guys, you don't need to worry about me. Let the chapter commence!

"Hey, Janice, is it just me, or is your hair a little bit of a darker shade of black?"
Janice looked at Akira in curiosity, glancing at her ponytail. "What do you mean? I didn't think it could get any darker...maybe it's because of the Shadow Queen?"
"It's possible."
"I'd hate to interrupt the pep rally," Ethan said, looking quite annoyed at them, "but we need to focus on the task at hand and not worry about Janice's fashion statement."
"Rude, much?" Cadence whispered at him as a way to come to Akira and Janice's defense.
Antonia was silent through their journey to Greenhorne Castle—they had all agreed to see if King Edward, the ruler of that kingdom, had any advice on finding the Shadow Queen's base. But the princess in blue didn't speak much, if at all. "Hey, Antonia, are you—?" Janice began, but she was cut off when a scream rang out.
"JOHN! NO! COME BACK!" The voice was female, and familiar to Janice. Antonia's hand flew to her mouth, only increasing suspicion of what she was hiding.
"Princess Charlotte!" Janice bolted into the castle throne room, not waiting for her friends, and what she saw confirmed her worries.
"Hero Janice! Thank goodness you are here!" King Edward shouted, flailing his arms in panic. "Do something! The princess's husband's face has been stolen!"
King of Greenhorne: Edward
"We don't know why, but please save him!" Edward's daughter, Charlotte, begged.
"!" her husband confirmed.
"Don't worry, we'll take care of this!" Janice said as her team entered where she came in. "C'mon, guys, let's go!"
The enemy dropped down from the ceiling, showing itself as a Dark Griffin with John's face on its wings. But it was different...it had sharp spikes on its tail and the end of its wings, and its eyes glowed blood red.
BEGIN BATTLE!

Party Health Points: 3,000 (Total), 70 (Janice), 500 (Ethan), 1,500 (Cadence), 80 (Antonia), 850 (Akira)
Janice attacks with a simple slash. "Yaaa!" Dark John Griffin loses 75 HP. Dark power shoots out of her sword and takes away a further 25 HP. "What the—?"
To Janice's surprise, her sword pulsed with dark power, and a tiny, barely visible purple cloud manifested on her chest. On her heart. Just like her dream, only this was much smaller.
"Ho ho!" the guardian interrupted. "Hmm...it seems your attack was much stronger than last time. Could this be because of the Shadow Queen's magic? In any case, it appears that your attack power has doubled in strength! And if you attack again, it shall double more! How convenient! But as a side effect, the rest of your team's attack power shall lower, so be careful. Even so, show this fiend who's boss, Janice! Ho ho!"
Ethan attacks with Mega Fire. "Mega Fire!" Dark John Griffin loses 10 HP.
Cadence attacks with a simple slam of her frying pan. "Heeyaaa!" Dark John Griffin loses 2 HP.
Antonia attacks with Double Royal Wave. "Prepare yourself!" Dark John Griffin loses 20 HP.
Akira attacks with Tower of Flame. "Tower of Flame!" Dark John Griffin loses 15 HP.
Dark John Griffin attacks with a body slam. Ethan loses 50 HP.
Janice attacks with Jump Slash. "Let's go! Jump Slash!" Dark John Griffin loses 20 HP. Dark power shoots out of her sword and takes away a further 10 HP.
Ethan attacks with Mega Lightning. "Mega Lightning!" Dark John Griffin loses 5 HP.
Cadence attacks with Flambé. "Grrrr!" Dark John Griffin loses 6 HP.
Antonia attacks with Royal Wave. "Shall we?" Dark John Griffin loses 4 HP.
Akira attacks with Mega Fire. "Mega Fire!" Dark John Griffin loses 3 HP.
Dark John Griffin attacks with a smack of its wing. Cadence loses 20 HP.
Janice attacks with a simple slash. "Ha!" Dark John Griffin loses 3 HP. Dark power shoots out of her sword and takes away a further 2 HP. Dark John Griffin is defeated. "Yes!"
John's face flies off of the monster. "Ah, that's better!"
Team Janice wins!
END BATTLE!
"BUT, AUTHOR," I hear you saying, "YOU DIDN'T EXPLAIN WHY THE OTHER TEAM MEMBERS HAD SUCH LOW ATTACK POWER AND WHY THE HP NUMBERS FOR THE PARTY MEMBERS WERE SO RANDOM AND WHY JANICE HAS SUCH LOW HP HERE WHEN SHE CLEARLY HAD MORE THAN SEVENTY IN THE LAST MIITOPIA FANFIC YOU DID!" Well, I have no words for you. NO WORDS, I SAY!
But I will say this: I need comments. I want to know what you guys think of my work! Confession time: I don't write just because I want to. I write because I want people to talk about it and encourage the author. I want people to have a close connection to the characters and story, to the author herself. Because with the way things are now, with the Coronavirus outbreak, I can't just walk up to a random person and say, "Hey, come look at this random scrap I'm writing!" And my friends now? Most of my friends don't go to my church or school anymore, and my thought-to-be-best-friend hasn't spoken to me in three years. So I'm basically a lone wolf, and I want to receive some feedback on my work so I can at least have a connection to my readers.
