"There's too many of them, Lazarus!" Scarlette yelled as she used Demonic Whisper to fend off some of the monsters. They'd been ambushed on their way to the Elven Retreat, and now they were in a bind.
"Don't say that! Ve cannot give up so easily, Scarlette!" Lazarus used Bat Tornado on the monsters, and after one of them hit him in the back, they got a taste of his Curse ability.
"Lazarus is right, darlings! Don't give in!" Trinity responded, shooting Dancing Arrows at every monster she came across.
Cameron, unlike the others, was having a field day. "WOO! SHOW NO MERCY!" he was shouting at the top of his lungs as he used Laser and Wild Shot, blowing the monsters to pieces.
"He's rather enthusiastic, isn't he?" Trinity muttered to Scarlette, using Healing Melody to get back on her feet.
"Typical Cameron," the imp replied as she used Punishing Pitchfork. "Okay, that's the last of them! Now, where were we?"
"Um...in the Realm of the Fey? Which is where we still are? Try to keep up, Scarlette," Cameron said, stopping his rampage.
Trinity and Lazarus looked at each other. "Do you feel that?" the elf asked.
"Yes...vhat about you?" replied the vampire.
"What is it?" Cameron asked them...and then it happened.
Both Trinity and Lazarus lost their faces. "Hey! That's my brother!" Scarlette protested.
Lazarus's face attached to what appeared to be a Mouthy Tomato, colored green instead of the usual yellow, and Trinity's went to a blue Owlet. Before anyone else had the chance to move, Janice and the others appeared out of nowhere.
"Ethan, Antonia, Ricky, Cadence! You keep them from being attacked by any stray monsters! We'll handle this!" Janice ordered, and the three nodded and began to fend off the few monsters that had avoided their attacks before. The warrior raised her sword, which pulsed with dark energy as Jean-Luc, Teresa, and Apollo stood beside her.
BEGIN BATTLE!
Enemy Target: Owlet Trinity and Mouthy Lazarus Tomato
Enemy Health Points: 950 (Total), 350 (Owlet Trinity), 600 (Mouthy Lazarus Tomato)
Party Health Points: 2,600 (Total), 1,200 (Janice), 250 (Teresa), 650 (Jean-Luc), 500 (Apollo)
Janice attacks using Darkeye Slash. "Darkeye Slash!" Mouthy Lazarus Tomato loses 300 HP. Dark power shoots out of her sword and takes away a further 250 HP.
Teresa attacks using Cat's Paw. "Meow!" Owlet Trinity loses 55 HP.
Jean-Luc attacks using Whirlwind Blades. Mouthy Lazarus Tomato loses 50 HP and Owlet Trinity loses 100 HP. Mouthy Lazarus Tomato is defeated. "Waste no time!"
Apollo attacks using Righteous Anger. "Begone!" Owlet Trinity is defeated. "I guess I did all right."
Lazarus and Trinity's faces fly off the monsters. "Good heavens!" "Vhat on earth...?!"
Team Janice wins!
END BATTLE!
"Oh, goodness," Trinity sighed. "L-let's not have a repeat of that, hmm?"
"Agreed," Lazarus nodded before turning to Janice. "Ve owe you."
"No problem."
"Ah, there you are, darlings!" a familiar voice said, and Janice turned to see three fairies walking toward them.
Eldest Fairy Sister: Abitha
Middle Fairy Sister: Aria
Youngest Fairy Sister: Ambre
"We've been looking for you," said Aria, smiling.
"Yeah! We've got trouble in the Retreat!" Ambre shouted. "Some crazy person called the Shadow Queen snatched up Emma and Bryan's faces! She said, 'If you want these back, meet me in Bigg Forest!'"
As Ambre muttered threats to the Shadow Queen under her breath, Abitha spoke to Janice. "We don't know why the Shadow Queen is doing this, but she said something about The Eternal...we can't risk that terrible entity being released."
"What is The Eternal anyway?" Janice asked for about the millionth time, but Abitha shook her head.
"That is not a question for now. We must save Bryan and Emma before it's too late. But first, you know of The Elite, yes?"
"The Elite? Queen Charlotte told us about it. Why?"
"Well, as it turns out, Prince Horace of Neksdor, Queen Charlotte herself, and my sisters and I...we are all descendants of The Elite. The Shadow Queen seeks to awaken The Eternal, so we must gather the descendants to stop her. You have Prince Horace and Queen Charlotte, yes?"
"Well, Charlotte's in Greenhorne right now, and Horace is back in Neksdor."
"Ah. In that case, we shall wait for them. The Shadow Queen's headquarters is located in Karkaton."
Before anybody could respond to this, Ethan's wand began to shimmer and buzz. "Oh. Hang on, I'm getting a message."
"Why's your wand buzzing?" Cadence asked.
"It's like a cell phone. Someone's contacting us!"
"What the heck's a cell phone?" Ambre demanded.
Comedy, Ambre. Haha. So funny. (Apparently Tomodachi Life hasn't happened yet. 😜)
