Third person POV-

71 years...

It had been 71 years since they started meeting at heavens theatre.
However that amount of time wasn't that long for a demon and goddess, which meant that they were still just friends.

Elizabeth didn't dare admit it but she knew she had developed a crush on the demon somewhere along the lines.
Meliodas however couldn't help but be on his guard around her.
Sure, he saw her as a dear friend, but he was not used to emotions and therefor had a hard time reading others, so he could never really be sure it wasn't all a grand scheme to kill him...not that he actually believed that. He just couldn't help himself.

"What's with you?" Meliodas asked in a monotone voice.
He was resting on the seats of the old heavens theatre where he was spending the day with Elizabeth.

"What are you talking about? I'm just happy" she said, and continued skidding around, being followed by the tiny puppy Estarossa.

"Yeah...but why?" He pushed.
Even after 71 years he didn't understand emotions or what brought them out.

All he knew was that he somehow felt better, and Warner when he was with Elizabeth than when he was with anyone else.
He guessed it had something to do with the emotions he had locked away, but he wouldn't ask her, he believed it was some he had to figure out himself, but maybe that was just his ego talking...

'Those kinda of things aren't befitting for a prince of demons!' His fathers booming voice echoed in his voice.
That's something he was told again and again back when he was a child.

Meliodas and his brother grew up being taught that anything non-demon was inferior.

"Why?" Elizabeth repeated his question.
She stopped and looked as if she was thinking about it with a serious look on her face.
Then that face cracked and she started giggling.
"Well I'm always happy when I'm with you, that's just how it is"

The look she gave him was so soft, filled with emotion, emotions he still couldn't name.

She had never said something like that before.
Sure he already knew it, but hearing her say it out loud caught him off guard for a split second.

"Ah!" Elizabeth gasped, her eyes widened, but he could guess it wasn't because if something bad, because her eyes were shining. Even more so than before...

With a few flaps of her wings she stood before him.

She leaned in close to his face.

"What in then hell are you doing?" He asked her confused and maybe a bit spooked by her sudden twist in behavior.

"You're eyes...they changed color for a second" she stated and continued to search his face, hoping to see it again.

Meliodas grew pale.
He knew what she was talking about.

Being caught off guard by her kind words his power had shifted and his black eyes had reverted back to their original green for a split second.

"No they didn't" he denied, hoping she'd drop it.

"Yes they did! I saw it, they were green! Please, can you show me again?" She pleaded.

"No" he said simply and turned his head to the side, away from her gaze.

"Please"

"No"

"Pleasseeeee"

"No"
