~ Chapter 9: Writing letters and eating junk food without feeling guilty. ~

The next day, after his appointment in the hospital, Damon came by like all days and we looked at the list together.

“What about this one?” I asked, pointing at Write a fan letter to my all-time favorite hero or heroine.

“That’s a really good one. We can probably find the addresses on the internet.”

“I’ll go find my computer and some paper.”

I went up to my room and got out everything we needed and Damon and I got settled on the table.

“So, who are your all-time favorite hero and heroine?” I inquired, ready to Google the first name.

“Can we include singers, actors and athletes?”

“It’s your list.”

“Right. Then we can.”

He pondered then wrote down some names like Michael Jackson, Eli Manning, Maroon 5, David Beckham, Marilyn Monroe, Macklemore, Eva Longoria, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, etc and I searched every address, except for the dead ones, to who Damon still wanted to write. He even included Spider-Man. He started writing and I put on some music to make it a little more fun. When he got a little tired, I offered to write for him what he would dictate to me so we did for a little while then we switched again. It went on for hours but Damon didn’t want to stop. He had a lot to say to his “heroes” and was really focused on doing every letter right. We finished late in the evening and I promised Damon I would send every letter in the morning. We checked it out of the list and he asked me if I wanted to watch a movie or something.

“Katie isn’t at your place?” I asked.

“I don’t know.”

I didn’t need to ask more questions cause, frankly, it wasn’t any of my business, so I put on a movie that we watched together, eating pop-corns and pastas (not together, don’t worry). He fell asleep in the middle of the film so I put a blanket on him and a pillow under his head, then went upstairs to go sleep too.

When I woke up the next day, it was really early but I was hungry so I went down to take something to eat. Damon was awake too and was watching the end of the movie, wrapped in a blanket.

“Hey.” I said, entering in the room.

He jumped with surprise and I apologized then sat next to him while eating a cookie. A few minutes later, the movie was over so Damon turned off the TV and yawned. I asked him if he had slept well and he nodded, while eating a cookie too. He took the list and decided to do Spend a whole day eating junk food without feeling guilty. I loved that one. I said I was going to go buy some food cause we didn’t have anything and Damon decided to come with me. We hopped in my car and drove to the supermarket, just after stopping to post every letter. I have to say doing this had consequences for me: as far as I knew, I wasn’t going to die soon, unlike Damon. But I thought about it and jumped to the conclusion that eating for a day wasn’t going to make me fat and that I wouldn’t eat for a week to compensate. I know it says “without feeling guilty’” but I think it was meant only for Damon.

We filled the trolley with a lot of things like candies, chips, sodas, pancake mix etc and paid for everything half-half (cause I wouldn’t let him pay for everything considering I was going to eat too) and we drove back home. We got settled in my living room and unwrapped the packets.
