Asma
"Thank god she's gone," I say mostly to myself. General Ryan laughs and it grates my ears.
"Yes, she is the most annoying out of the two of you," she responds.
I roll my eyes at her kiss-assery. From my small time with Sienna, it's obvious they're working together against me. She kept saying how they were helping her. I also couldn't take over as easily. It was like something was blocking me. She seemed more cautious of her thoughts too. Continuously, her mind would drift off to random thoughts about her men before focusing on how green the grass was. It makes me wonder, has she seen them? Or does she just miss them?
When I don't respond to General Ryan, her smile falls and she walks past me out the door. I follow her and I'm not surprised when we go to the room full of computers. "So how are you, Asma?" She asks, making small talk.
"Fine, where's Kamar?" I demand, not wanting to be in her presence anymore.
"A mission," she hums, typing something in. "You seem to have quite the interest in him, and he seems to be quite fond of you."
I go on edge at hearing that. Feelings are a weakness and that's why Soldiers were made. For them to never have emotions. But I'm different, and therefore I'm weak.
Shit.
"He's one of the only people here who doesn't piss me off," I say casually, as though it was not big deal.
"Hmm," is all she says.
This is bad.
"So you were you awake when Sienna was?" She continues.
Based on her question, she already knows the answer to that. "I don't know where she went," I answer truthfully, sure that she was going to ask that. "When I woke up she was outside."
She observes me closely, like she thinks I'm lying. But if I was, she wouldn't be able to tell. So I don't know why she's even bothering.
"We would like to run some tests on you," she speaks after some time.
Numbers and big words cover the wall along with a diagram of my, our, body. I have no idea what I'm looking at, but I do know there should be no reason I'm getting tested.
"Why?" I ask cautiously.
Her jaw tightens and she turns around to face me with a fake smile. "We are unsure of whether or not activating the key will deactivate you. We want to make sure you will be fine and for that, we have to do some tests."
"Bullshit," I snarl, ready to walk out the door.
A Soldier stands in my way with a gun in his hand. I roll my eyes at him and turn back to General Ryan.
"This test would be for you. If you don't care about being deactivated and therefore dying, then walk out that door," she says matter-of-factly, waving her hand for the Soldier to move out my way. Indecision courses through me and my mind races. Now I wish Sienna was awake. She would give me all the reasons why this is a bad idea, for her own selfish reasons of course. But, the only good reason I have for doing this is that I'd be alive to potentially be with Kamar, or any other guy.
"Fine," I mutter, walking back to her.
Her thin lips curve into a smile. "Perfect."

I walk down the long hallway away from the experimentation room. After being poked and stabbed for hours, I'm finally free. General Ryan told me Kamar was back and would be waiting for me in the cafeteria.
I step out the elevator and walk into the large room full of Soldiers. My eyes search for the dark-skinned man and I almost roll my eyes when he's already staring at me. His eyes seem to smile at me while his lips are in a cheeky smirk.
"Bastard," I greet, walking up to him.
"Hey, Asma," he laughs. He catches me by surprise when he reaches out and pulls me into a hug. My whole body freezes and I'm on edge, ready to strike if I need to.
"Don't worry, this is a safe hug," he assures. He pulls away and ruffles the hair on my head with a smile.
"Stop cheesing at me," I demand, though I kind of like it.
He salutes to me and his lips turn down slightly, though a grin is still there. We sit down at the table he was at and he begins to eat.
"Hey, lovebirds," Jasen says, sitting down by Kamar. I flick him off and he catches it, putting it in his pocket. "For later," he laughs.
I glare at him and he grins, "You better stop staring at me. Kamar there might get jealous."
Immediately stopping, I turn to Kamar, not wanting for him to get the wrong idea. When he's doesn't seem to be upset, I turn back to Jasen and point a finger at him. "You're ugly," I insult. Of course he isn't ugly. No Soldier is. We're genetically made not to be. However, Kamar is much more attractive than he is.
"And what am I?" said man asks. Kamar's eyes are gleaming and I could get lost in them.
"Slightly better looking," I hum, grabbing a fry off his plate.
His hand whips out and snatches the fry from me. He leans in close, making my heart do spins. "I think you're beautiful," he compliments lowly before eating the fry.
I look down at his lips as he chews and I end up licking my own.
"Get a room," Jasen groans, picking up his plate and eating elsewhere. I'm too focused on Kamar closeness to see where.
"What do you say?" Kamar asks making me confused.
"What?" I whisper, my throat dry.
He chuckles and quickly pecks me on the lips. "Let's get a room."
The quick kiss and his words make my body go into overdrive. I immediately stand up and start looking for the nearest exit.
I grab his hand and pull him when I see it and we go out the cafeteria into the elevator. I turn to speak to him, but no words come out when he slants his lips across mine. My body buzzes like never before as he kisses me deeply and passionately. It's nothing like the first guy from the nightclub. I don't even remember his name.
His arms wrap around my body and I jump into his arms. The elevator dings and he walks us out and down the hallway. I'm not scared if anyone sees us, in fact, let them enjoy the show. My mind is consumed of Kamar.
"Wait!" I shout, once we're in his room.
Disgust rolls through me as a thought hits me that I completely forgot about.
"What?" He asks, breathing hard. He looks incredibly sexy and it sucks that we may have to stop this.
"What if we're related?" I breathe out, silently praying we're not connected.
He chuckles loudly and comes close to me again, but I slap his hands away. "I checked, love. Chief Joya and Head Gene are my parents."
Excitement and happiness rolls through my body, but that gets pushed away with desire when I feel Kamar's hands on me again.
"You gonna kiss me then?" I smirk, looking at him with wanting eyes.
He moves in with a dark look and I fall into bed with him eagerly.
