Theo
Where did it all go wrong?
Sienna's leaving, the men I love hate me, I hate myself and...
I'm alone.
Physically, I'm not. Dom, Dean and Cole stand all around me. They're right in front of me, but they've never felt so far away. I can't touch them. I don't even feel like I have the right to be in their presence. That's why I open the door to leave.
The atmosphere in the house is tense, strange, and exhausting. Staying here won't do anyone any good, so I've been looking for houses and apartments. Sienna left, and I'm pretty sure I'm next.
"Where are you going?" Cole asks softly. His eyes shine with pain when they connect with me.
"Somewhere." I don't want to let the guys know about my house shopping yet. They might see it as me being officially done with them and me not wanting to fight for them. But isn't keeping secrets and lying what got us here in the first place? "I'm going to look for houses, mainly apartments. I don't know when I'll be back." I try to leave, but Dom's voice stops me. It's the first time he's spoken directly to me and I want to cry.
"You're moving out." It's a statement, not a question. Dom knows my thought process.
"Being in this house isn't good for us," I explain, tears threatening to fall. "Me being in this house hurts you all and it'd just be best for me to leave."
This pisses Dean off. "So you're just gonna run away! You're not even gonna try to fix this!" He yells at me.
"I don't know how to fix this. Is me being here, us not talking, fixing this relationship? I'm hurting and I want it to stop. It won't end with me being here." I try to make them see from my point of view.
"You're hurting? You cheated on us. Not the other way around. So leave, Theodore. That's what you think is best for you," Dom snarls at me.
The tears are actively flowing now. I can't stop them. I hurt them, so badly. I did the despicable. Cheating on the one you love is not only awful, but it feels awful. I want to throw up and scrub every part of my body raw. I want to completely erase that night from my mind and beg on my knees for forgiveness. I can't believe I ever did such a thing. And I can't take it back.
"I'm sorry," I whisper though it's pointless. Nothing can take away Dom and Dean's pain.
Sienna's too.
I can't imagine what she's going through. Her body is being taken over and used for sex. And instead of me talking to her, instead of us helping her, she's slowly being consumed by a robot. She's alone, she's in pain, and she's hopeless. I could see the hopelessness in her eyes. Sienna has given up. I know she'll fight against Asma, but not very hard.
That might've been the last time I saw her.
My heart stutters and I yank the door open, running for Sienna. For all I know, she could be Asma already.
"Why are you running so fast?" Cole shouts behind me.
I look back and see that all three of them are following me. They probably saw the panic on my face.
"What the hell?" I ask aloud, skidding to a stop. Mia's body lays on the ground, her head sliced clean off her body. Work of only a fine blade like Felie. Work of only a fine robot like Asma. Sienna had plenty of opportunities to kill Mia, only Asma would've done this.
"Asma killed her," Dom says reaching the same conclusion as me. I study his face and see that it's blank. He feels nothing for the dead woman who was our wife years ago.
I feel nothing. I don't care that Mia is dead. I wanted her out of our lives the moment I learned about her homophobia. I do, however, care about the woman Asma is taking over. Sienna is in danger and we don't know where she is. Based on the dropped bags, Asma doesn't care about where she's going. The fact that she's free and in control is probably all that's running through her mind.
Something barks, drawing our attention to CJ. He growling at a black substance on the floor.
"Cole, this look familiar?" Dean asks Cole, kneeling dangerously close to the unknown liquid.
Cole, who had been comforting a distressed CJ, flinches noticeably at being acknowledged, but still goes over to Dean. The distance between them seems to be wide as they inspect together.
"Yeah," Cole agrees with Dean. "It's that same stuff that knocked out Asma."
I frown as I make eye contact with Dom. "When did Asma get knocked out?"
"You were too busy getting kidnapped," Dean says gruffly. He stands up and looks around as though he's looking for clues.
"So Sienna, Asma, or both were knocked out by some substance." Dom concludes. "That can only mean someone was watching and someone took them. But why would Mia follow her?"
I walk back to the dead woman and inspect her face. You'd think her face would be frozen in terror, but it's blank. I grab a stick and open her eyes to reveal what I suspected. "This is Soldier Gloria. Mia was sent her to capture Sienna." I glance between all of their faces, waiting for a different theory.
"So was this her plan?" Dean asks, confusion written all over his face. "Her plan was to get us to breakup and get Sienna alone so she could take her?"
I don't know if that was her plan. But I know Mia isn't smart enough to get us to break up on her own. Asma going to that nightclub and us breaking up was just luck for Mia.
"It doesn't matter." Dom's voice is laced with authority. He seems to become our leader again as he stands tall and straight. "What matters is that Sienna is in danger, either from an unknown enemy or Asma, and we have to help her. I don't care what happened between us. She doesn't deserve that." He looks between all of us, his eyes quickly passing over my face.
It feels like we're back to where we started. The four of us separated, Mia dead, Sienna's life in danger, and us being completely clueless. Except there's unsaid words and heartache in the mix. I'm ready for this mission though. I'm ready to get the woman who gave her heart so easily back.
"Where do we begin?"
