https://www.clipart.email/clipart/gold-dragon-silhouette-107284.html this is a link to where I got this picture. I don't want to take credit for other people's hard work.
I know this is kind of short but (as I said in the description) this is my first time I've written a story for other people. I hope you enjoy this story!
This takes place a few days before the dragons disappear on July 7 X777
In this time, I'm only 5 years old. I sit up and look around sleepily having just woken up for the day. I see the wide open field that we've been staying at. But I don't see anyone else with me. I started to panic but then I saw Hydroxia by the lake. She is watching the water carefully probably trying to catch some breakfast. Eventually she moves her talons fast as lightning snatching up a large fish from the stream.
"Hydroxia!" I shout waving at the blue dragon trying to get her attention. Hydroxia looks up from the fish that she caught and smiles, walking towards me.
"Why hello little Y/N" Hydroxia says looking at me with her large, green, friendly eyes. She starts patting my head with one gentle talon. "Now that you're up, do you think that you could go into the forest and get some wood for the fire?" she asks.
"Sure!" I say and start to head towards the trees.
"But remember if-" she calls to me but I interrupt her knowing exactly what she's gonna say.
"If I see any strangers don't approach them." I call back to her smiling as I walked into the forest.
----------------------------------------
After I thought I collected enough wood I started to head back to our little makeshift camp. But then I hear what sounds like other people.
*Hydroxia said not to approach strangers. Oh but I wanna see who it is!* I thought curiously and then place my collection of wood down and start heading towards the voices, having my curiosity get the better of me. *She said not to talk to strangers but she probably won't mind if I just go take a look.*
As I got closer to the voices I started walking more quietly, crouching to hide behind a bush trying not to be seen. I looked through the leaves at a small group of men. As far as I could see there were two men, one was taller than the other and wearing a red flannel with jeans while the other was wearing a sleeveless white tank top.
I couldn't hear what they were saying so I leaned further towards the two. I leaned a little too far and almost fell but caught myself. Even though I caught myself, the noise of the rustling leaves caught their attention causing their heads to snap up facing my way.
The taller one stood up and started to walk toward me. I was so nervous that they would spot me, so I held my breath, trying to make as little sound as possible. I backed away from the opening in the leaves.
Just as he was about to discover me, another person emerged from the trees a few feet from my hiding place. He was wearing a black jacket, the man had a buzz cut and a large scar going down the side of his face.
"Ah there you are. What took you so long" the one still sitting greeted the new comer.
"Ya what happened? You were gone for almost a whole 30 minutes" said the guy standing in front of me as he walked up to his friend and patted him on the back in a friendly manner. "Did ya get lost or somethin'?"
"Nah do you know how hard it is to catch some food around here?" the new comer said holding up a rabbit.
I had moved back to my original spot watching them curiously. They were chit chatting for a while until one of them lowered his voice so no one could hear. I had to lean in closer and strain my ears to make out what they were saying.
"So what's the plan?" the one with the scar said quietly. "Are we going to go in and -"
This time I fell. I couldn't catch myself and went tumbling out from the bush with a yelp. I landed with a thump. *Oh no* I thought and I slowly looked up at the man who approached me. When I looked up at him he almost looked scary and I backed away.
"Ah what do we have here?" the man said, his scar only making him look scarier. "And who might you be little girl?" he bent down so he could look into my eyes.
