I stared into the strangers eyes. he looked like he was trying to seem friendly but I knew he was dangerous.
"Um-I..." I stuttered.
The guy's scarred face started to look extremely irritated with my shyness. "Well?" He said a little less kindly than he did before "What's your name little girl?"
"Um I-I'm Y/N L/N" I tell him threatened by the sudden rise in voice.
"Ah well then Y/N" he said more calmly. "I'm gonna need you to come with me." He started to reach his hand out to grab me. Regaining my courage at the sudden threat, I dart under his arm. He tries to snatch at my long hair, just barely missing. As I run I feel another pair or arms go around my body holding me tightly.
"Got'chya" I hear the youngest one say.
I wriggle around trying to get out of his grasp. "Help!" I yell in attempt to get assistance in my escape. "Hel-" I yell again only to get cut off by his hand covering my mouth.
"Well what do we do- Ow!" He yells as I bite into his hand.
His grip loosens in surprise and I'm able to get away, kicking him right in between his legs as I do. I hear him grunt in pain and fall to the ground behind me as I run away.
I hear one of the other two men give chase, probably the scarred one, as I weave myself between the trees. I see the clearing ahead of me and put on a burst of speed.
"Hydroxia!" I shout hoping that she is in hearing range. "Hydroxia! Hydrox-." I get to the edge of the tree line only to trip over some roots and I fall to the ground.
I attempt to get up only to get caught in another grip, only this one being stronger. "Geez you're fast for a little girl your age." The man says out of breath. I look up seeing the marked face looking down at me. I try to escape again, failing, kicking at the air as he picks me up.
I hear the other two coming up behind us, also out of breath. I look back seeing the one that I kicked leaning against a tree. "I swear I'm gonna get you back for that you brat!" He said, his voice cracking from him still being in pain.
"Hydro-!" I yell at the top of my lungs being cut off again by a hand covering my mouth. Ugh let me go!
"Shut up!" The man holding me said in an irritated, angry voice. Just then a shadow appears above us, like a thick rain cloud suddenly being blown to cover the sun. I look around only to see my captors looking up, a fearful look in their eyes as a familiar blue dragon lands in front of us.
"Let. Her. Go." Hydroxia says in a terrifying tone I never thought the kind, sweet, loving dragon I know could ever make. The arms around me began to loosen as the man shook in fear. His hand fell from my mouth as I escaped his grasp.
Her voice changing from terrifying to scolding as I ran to Hydroxia, she says "What did I say about approaching strangers!" Hydroxia's eyes looking down at me like a mother who just caught their child steeling from a candy shop.
"I'm sorry!" I say hugging her talon, happy to be back in her safe security. I look at the three men. They all have a dumbfounded look on their faces, probably surprised that I hugged a dragon and it wasn't trying to eat me. I look back up at Hydroxia with tears at the sides of my eyes.
She looks back at them as the younger one who had caught me the first time tries to sneak away, freezing as Hydroxia glares at him. "Now you three." She says eyeing them as if she's contemplating on what to do with them. Finally she makes up her mind. "If I ever see you anywhere near this youngling ever again, I'll tear your heads off!" She says, me flinching at the harshness of her words.
They immediately start running away scared for their lives. I stick my tongue out at them pulling at my lower eyelid.
"Y/N" Hydroxia says sternly making me flinch. I look up at her disappointed face. she sighs "Y/N, Y/N, Y/N. What am I going to do with you."
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be seen, I just wanted to get a closer look." I said apologetically
"Well I guess I could just give you a warning this time" she says with a sigh "But if it happens again, I'll have to come up with some kind of punishment." She says with a sigh hugging me close. "But don't scare me like that again!" she says holding me in front of her to look into my eyes
"I won't, I promise" I say with a smile "Oh wait I left the wood I gathered in the forest." I turned around going to get the wood. Just then Hydroxia put her talon in front of me blocking my path.
"How about we just get some nuts and berries this time" she said going to a berry bush.
"Ok" I say happily.

the rest of the day went on normally and we went to bed excited about tomorrow. Little did I know what would come to greet me in the morning.
Loneliness.
