Chapter Four- Leave Him Alone!

I was about to say something to the boy's comment but then BAM! I feel something hit me in the back of my head and I fall to the floor.

"h-hey don't hurt her!" atsume says. as I look at him behind the one I guessed was Ruba he looked scared like he never spoke up to him before.

"Stay out of this Atsume!" Ruba says walking closer to me. I analyze the situation before acting just as I was taught. I saw and opening in the circle of boys. moving quickly before he could react in time to dodge, I slide my feet, kicking his feet out from under him and stand up.

I knew we were out numbered so quickly I grab Atsume by his wrist and pull him with me. he struggled to run as he was surprised that I had dragged him with me. Although he was able to catch up as his feet moved to keep him from falling.

"W-what are you doing!" He asked as I tried to find a way to hide from the group that was chasing us.

"Saving your butt" I replied turning a corner. I saw a crowd and rushed over to them. We tried to blend into the crowd of people, Atsume doing a terrible job at it. People stared in confusion and I dragged him over to a booth for some kind of fruit. "At least try to blend in." I whisper to him "unless you want them to find us then be my guest."

I see the group run past not noticing us. "Idiots" I whisper under my breath with a smile, proud that my method actually worked. "Now Atsume" I say and I see the shocked look on his face "that is your name isn't it? I mean that's what your... whatever they are to you, called you." He nodded confirming my guess "Ok so what did you do to make them treat you like that" I ask and he looks to the floor.

"W-well that's normal" he said and looked kind of embarrassed. "They're known for causing trouble around the town."

"Really?!?" I ask surprised "and they don't get in trouble?" I sigh "this is why I don't get humans."

"Huh?" He says confused

"Well they never punish one another for doing some thing that's obviously wrong and-."

"Wait no" he says interrupting me "What do you mean humans?" He asked still confused

Oops I forgot not to talk like that. "O-oh sorry I meant people" I said rubbing the back of my neck nervously. "So do people tell the adults about stuff like this?" I ask changing the subject.

"W-well no." He stutters "Ruba says that if we tell anyone, he'll beat us up." Atsume says looking down at his feet.

"Well it looks like he does that anyway" I say and Atsume looks at me. now that I think about it he hasn't really done that much. "Do you live somewhere near here" I ask and then I see his eyes widen. "What, why are you looking at me like that." I ask

"Y-you're bleeding!" He says looking at my face. Just now noticing the pain in my head, I bring my hand to my eyebrow and look at it.

"Oh hey looks like I am." I say calmly seeing blood on my fingers. I look back up at Atsume and he looks shocked.

"How are you not freaking out!" He asks and he grabs my hand and drags me to a new street.

Funny first it was me dragging him and now this. "Where are we going?" I ask him as we once again take a turn.

"We're going to my house." He says bluntly and he stops in front of a house. The house looked like an ordinary house, it had a trail going through a garden in the front and a couple of windows.

"W-Wait I don't know if I should I mean-."

"no it's fine, my mom won't mind." He said as we go up the small steps leading to the door.

I can handle a couple kids but... adults. I pictured the three men who tried to kidnap me, making me even more nervous than I already was

He picked up a brick at the top of the steps. Under the brick, there's a key which he puts into the keyhole of the door and unlocks it. As we step inside I see a woman sitting at a table writing something and she looks up as the door closes. I moved my hair to cover my face.

"Oh hello Atsu" the woman says smiling at him. The way she looked at him reminded me of Hydroxia. "Now who is your little friend?" She said moving her gaze to me
