Chapter Fourteen- Eggs?

After his fight with Erza natsu had left.

"Hey anyone know where the fire breather went?" Grey asked.

I looked around and couldn't see the pink haired boy. "I don't know. I did see him walk out a while ago." I said motioning to the door.

"He probably left because he was embarrassed he lost to a girl!" mirajane sneered with a laugh.

Lisanna whacked her sister in the arm. "you stop!" she scolded her "But seriously I'm worried, what if he gets hurt."

"C'mon he's a wizard he can handle himself" Wakaba said from his seat at the bar.

Lisanna still looked uncertain but she said "Well ok if you say so..."

(Natsu POV)

I punched the tree that I've been punching for a while. "Stupid Erza. Stupid Grey." I muttered still punching. I've been doing that for a while. I could feel my skin starting to break from hitting the wood, but I didn't really care.

I was just mad at Grey, Erza and Mirajane. All of them "They don't know what they're talking about. I'm the son of a dragon." I was so focused on my abuse to the tree that I didn't notice the big round item falling from the tree.

Eventually. BONK! The strange thing hit me in the head. "Ouch. Ouch. Ouch..." I said under my breath as I had my hands on the spot it hit. I opened my eyes slowly and looked up. At first I didn't know what it was, but then, what I saw I would never believe.

It was a dragon egg!

I looked up to see if I could see any dragons but I was disappointed when I couldn't see anything aside from the family of squirrels that had come to see the commotion.

I didn't know what to do with the egg but what I did know is that it would get crushed by a forest Vulcan if I just left it here. So I brought it back with me.

(Y/N POV)

Natsu has been gone for a while and it seemed like even erza was beginning to get worried. Our worries would come to a stop because the person who walked through the door was indeed Natsu.

"You guys are never going to believe what I found!" He announced gaining the attention of everyone in the guild. Before anyone could say anything he pulled out a large, round item. "I found an egg!"

"What?" lisanna exclaimed "What kind of egg is it?" she asked, her eyes shining with curiosity.

The egg was white and it had blue markings on it like flames. It was almost half the size of Natsu's body. just from looking at it I could tell what is was.

"I think its a dragon egg." he said

"Wait where in the world did you find a dragon egg? If it even really is a dragon. For all we know it could just be a really big bird." Grey said looking at the egg skeptically.

"No way"lisanna replied. "I've never seen a bird egg that big."

"Well either way I wanna keep it." Natsu said with a smile

"What in the world do you plan on doing with it?" Grey scoffed teasingly. "Eat it?"

Natsu's face was full of disbelief as he stared at Grey "How could you even say that? I'm not gonna eat it, I wanna raise it."

After discussing it with master, Natsu kept the egg. Everyone talked about what it would look like and gave advice on how one might raise an animal like that. Of coarse no one really knew what to expect. At the end of the day everyone went home. I walked down the trail to my treehouse which was fortified with the help of my friends. It now had a few branches woven together a to make a roof.

Although, today something seemed off. I climbed the tree easily, finding the familiar footholds I made. It looked like something had crashed through the roof, creating a huge hole that let in a small breeze. I looked around, checking that nothing was damaged, and cleaned up the mess.

"Must've been some kind of anima-" I mumbled to myself, cutting off at the sight of a white, smooth surface. I stared in astonishment as I pulled out the round figure. "What in the..." My voice trailed off, my hand brushing the soft shell. "An egg?" I thought for a moment then gasped.

This looks like the egg that natsu found! Thoughts were racing through my head. This egg was the same as natsu's egg but different. It still had the same fire-like pattern but instead of it being blue, it was orange.

I look at the egg, turning it to look at it from all angles. What I saw, got me nervous. There was a crack on the shell. I start to panic. it doesn't look too big but its still a crack

It was already pretty late so no one would be at the guildhall. I didn't know what to do. Lisanna had said something about keeping the egg warm so I quickly got up and grabbed the blanket from the little branch perch that I slept on. I had still refused to have a bed but elfman had insisted on giving me a blanket.

I wrapped the egg in the blanket and moved it to a spot where it wouldn't roll away. I sat, just watching it intently. I couldn't sleep from the excitement of finding the egg. To be honest, I was a little jealous of Natsu when he showed everyone the egg, but now, I found my own egg. I decided to get my sketchbook that had come with the art set I bought with the three Strauss siblings and decided to draw the egg.

I had stayed with the egg through the whole night, drawing and admiring each and every detail until I fell asleep.

the next day I brought the egg to the guild.

"What? You got an egg too?" Grey said in disbelief "Are you sure you didn't just get jealous of Natsu and made an egg?" He said eyeing me and the egg with suspicion.

"How could anyone just make an egg?" I said "It's not like I laid it myself. If you come to my place you could see the hole it made in my roof."

We placed the eggs next to each other and people were gathering around them.

"Whats all the commotion about?" Master said as he walked through the front door.

"Y/N found an egg." Someone called from the crowd who sounded like Macao.

Master walked over to the group of people to see the two eggs in the middle. "Hmm..." he hummed in thought. "What are you going to do with it?" he asked giving me a questioning look.

I honestly wanted to disappear with all the eyes watching me expectingly. I didn't know what I wanted to do with it. "Umm... I guess I wanted to raise it like Natsu."

I have been trying to make each chapter longer for everyone to enjoy more. some people might notice that I post a new chapter almost every day, but my posts might slow down because I had already written a lot of chapters but now, I am running out.
