I dried my eyes before following her. Atsume had gone to his room while his mother and I had our conversation. She led me upstairs and we walked down a short hallway. We stopped by a door and the woman knocked. "Atsume will you come out for a minute?" She called through the closed door. I heard footsteps come to the door and it opened revealing atsume.
"Ya mom?" he said. He saw me and smiled.
"Sweetie do you think it would be ok with you if Y/N stayed in your room while she's staying with us?" she asked her son. I didn't think I would be staying in his room but I guess it would be ok. After all I'm only staying for a little bit. I thought still a little skeptical at the idea of sleeping with someone I had just met.
He smiled, first at his mom, then at me. "So she's staying?" he asked excited. His mom nods. "yes of course its ok" he smiled and grabbed my hand pulling me into his room. His mom stood by the doorway smiling at us before she went back downstairs.
Atsume's roomed a lot of things, like toys and a bunch of papers. He had some clothes scattered around randomly which he pushed into a basket. He rambled on about his toys. He showed me a couple toy trains and some animals.
Eventually he brought me to his favorite toy. It was a dragon. He explained it to me but I was only half listening. I could already tel by looking at it what kind of dragon it was. I knew for sure that it wasnt a water dragon. It was red with a long narrow snout. Hydroxia had told me about these kinds of dragons.
It was a fire dragon. "... Of course real dragons aren't this small." he went on "I heard that a full grown dragon can be as big as our house!" he explained excitedly.
"Well I wouldn't say as big as this house." I replied and atsume gave me a confused look. "If anything I'd say Hydroxia is the size of one of those bigger housed that we passed by earlier." I said bluntly like it wasn't that impressive "But she said she has a friend who's taller than her but I never met hi-"
"Wait what?" he almost yelled "You've met a dragon?" the look he was giving me was a mix between shock, amazement and disbelief.
"Ya. Hydroxia raised me. She was like your mom but a dragon." I was confused at his confusion and shock. Why is he so surprised? I asked myself.
"What? I don't believe you. My mom says the dragons disappeared a really long time ago. Nobody's seen one in hundreds of years." he told me. Although I knew he was wrong. Me and Hydroxia were learning magic together only a few weeks ago.
"Hmph. Well believe me or not, if it weren't for her then I wouldn't be able to use magic." I pouted, crossing my arms. "How else would you explain that." I told him "She also taught me how to fight, how to hunt, how to read and wri-"
"You can use magic?!?" this time he actually yelled, but not in anger, it sounded like he was excited. "Really? Can you show me?"
"Well I don't know, I don't wanna bre-"
"C'mon please?"
Ugh would he stop interrupting me! I thought frustrated "Ok... But don't blame me if I break anything..." I breathed in and out preparing to not break anything "Ok here I go... Water dragon wings!" Immediately, water had come out of my back, splitting in the middle. Two wing like shapes formed and I flapped my wings, lifting off the ground a little.
(yes this idea is inspired by lapis lazuli from Steven Universe)
"Whoa! Thats so cool!" atsume said excitedly. His room was a little small to fly but there was a little room. But then, my wing accidentally hit a couple of the picture frames on the wall. They fell but I moved fast to catch them. I missed one of the frames and it shattered on the floor.
Oops I thought guiltily. I heard atsume's mom walking quickly up the stairs and then the door swung open. "What happed? What was that." She asked. She sounded scared like someone had broken in and that made me feel even more guilty.
