The next day I woke up and looked around. Hydroxia was gone. I was about to panic but then I remembered what happened yesterday and looked towards the lake, expecting to see her  hunting for fish again.

Once again, she was no where to be seen. "Hydroxia?" I say rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. there is no response. "Hydroxia?" I try again with a little more volume.

There was still no answer. Where is she?  I thought nervously. She wouldn't abandon me... Would she? I thought immediately not trusting my own words. I climb down from my perch in the tree I was sleeping in.

"Hydroxia!" I call out with tears starting to form in my eyes. "Hydroxia where are you?!?" I called again "mom?" I called even though I knew she didn't like it when I called her that

It went on like that for a while. Me wondering where my foster mother was. Calling for her "Mom where are you" I said through sobs, sitting in a new tree in a new place, exhausted, having run for hours calling and hiding away from the wild predators  of the night. I had  cried myself to sleep. Not having eaten anything that day.

That night I had nightmares. Nightmares of wild Vulcans finding me. Hydroxia not being there to save me. I was startled awake tears still streaming down my face. I sat up, propping myself up against the trunk of the tree.

I pulled my knees to my chest and started to cry again.

The next morning I woke up to the sound of my stomach growling from hunger. I slowly climbed down the tree and went to a nearby river. I gratefully drank from the river and I saw a few fish swimming by. Thinking back to watching Hydroxia catching fish I tried to do the same thing.

I waited. Waited. Waited... then SPLASH! I felt the fish in my hand but it slipped out. While I tried to catch the fish in mid air, I slipped and fell into the water. "UGH!" I yelled in frustration. I remembered what Hydroxia had said.

"Y/N you need to be patient. Let the fish swim closer. Don't aim for where the fish is. Aim for where its going to be."

Thinking about her advice, I tried again and again, eventually catching a decent sized fish. It defiantly wasn't as big as the ones Hydroxia would catch but it was something.

I travel around for a while, when one day I come upon a town. hiding in the trees at the edge of town I think to myself. I don't know if I should go into town. there are just so many people. after a while of arguing with myself on the pros and cons of going into town, I finally make my decision.

Walking into town with a hood I had stolen from some travelers, I look around curiously. I see so many people, smiling, laughing, and arguing with booth owners. I walk through town keeping my head down trying not to be noticed.

Then I hear some boys laughing and I look up. I see a group of boys, all around the same age, in a circle around what looked like a younger kid. I don't think much of it until...

"Stop!" I hear the younger kid yell at the group, standing up, his legs shaking.

"Ya and why should we!" One of the boys yell right back at him. That same boy shoves the kid to the ground.

"H-hey." I say quietly but they ignore me.

"You're just a useless little-" the boy says but gets cut off by me.

"Hey!" I yell at him stepping in front of him looking straight into the boy's eyes. "Leave him alone!" I tell him, making my bravest face.

"Huh? Oh is this your little girlfriend Atsume?" he asks tauntingly with a little smirk on his face.

"N-no I don't know-"

"Aw so you need your girlfriend to come and save you. thats pathetic." One of the other boys say with a laugh.

The first boy went to push me down along with Atsume. Just as his hands were going to make contact with my shoulders, I move to the side dodging him and putting a foot out to trip him. He fell to the ground face planting behind me.

"What the hell?" He says standing back up as his friends laugh at him. "Oh thats it" He says going to punch me again but I only block, remembering what I was taught I grab his hand twisting it and he falls to the ground again.

He gets back up and glares at me. One of his friends steps forward "wow you just lost to a girl Roba. Haha thats hilarious." He says laughing.

As I look at the other guy, slightly offended by his comment the one I was fighting stands and goes to punch me.
