"Hi! Welcome to the neighborhood!" Sebastian was obviously way too cheerful for the sake of a good first impression.
"Good to be welcomed. I'm Mikey." The man, Mikey, had a soft smile that poked out though his mustache. He was alarmingly skinny with clearly defined muscles poking against his skin. Probably a super health nut.
A nice super health nut.
"Sebastian, and this is Autumn. We came to say introduce ourselves and present you with the stereotypical casserole." Ahh, yes, the fine art of covering your lack of originality with claiming it as irony.
"Well I'm sure we'll all appreciate that stereotype, come on in." Mikey ushered the Danzigs into his new home. He quickly introduced them to his husband, Tyler, and daughter, Viola. The two kids knew they were supposed to go stay out of trouble and let the adults talk, and thusly Autumn led Viola out to the desert. It was somehow even more dry and hot then in the car ride here.
"Well I'm glad your here, everyone's a raisin around here!" This statement was fortnuately responded by a small laugh from Viola.
"Glad I can help you take out the boomers." Viola teased, wiping a little sweat from her brow.
"Yes, we must work on a boomer remover plan at once." Autumn joked.
"Well I guess it's good you're here too so I'm not left as the sole zoomer in the desert."
"Nah, my cousin lives in town and they usually comes out here with me."
"Oh, I haven't really explored the town that much, my Dad had us drive in though the desert."
"Like I said, everyone here's a dinosaur, and they made this town with that in mind." Autumn seemed to make every sentence thus far, emphatic in way that a little off putting at first.
"Oh," Viola wasn't really sure what to say but was saved by Autumn continuing to say "As Shadow, my cousin, once said: 'This whole mother-fluffing desert is a perfect example of how society caters to the elderly and leaves the youth in the desolate desert to die!'" Autumn could barely keep a straight face as she recalled the indigent speech from memory.
"Wow, do I want to know how you can remember all that?"
"I had 'em write it down so I could make fun of 'em for it."
"Did they know it would be used against them when they said it?" Viola really hoped Autumn wasn't just another mean girl, although she didn't seem like one.
"Yep," Autumn said popping the 'p', "We've know each other our whole lives, they're kinda used to it by now."
"Oh, well I hope I can meet them soon."
"Yeah, my Dad made me come say hi to y'all because they're helping our cousin move in."
"Your cousin's moving in too?"
"Yeah!" Autumn green eyes lit up as she remembered something. "No one ever comes here, until now, all of a sudden you both move in at the same time! Shadow's been coming up with all kinds of theories about you two."
"Oh, well-"
"Not in a weird way! Just as something to do to pass the time. Shadow's a huge nerd. I'm pretty sure they can't go one day without finding inspiration for a book."
"That's cool, do you like writing too?"
"Yeah, but I don't like having other people read them."
"Yeah, I get that." Viola seemed to be thoughtful in her responses, just quiet, like she didn't really know what to say. Autumn was used to that, as Shadow once said (and Sebastian loves to quote) 'Autumn's rather intense to talk to at first, but after awhile you sort of get used to it.'
"I'll ask Shadow to show you some of their stories tomorrow if you want, they love sharing but they're just bad at getting compliments."
"Sure, they sound nice," Viola found that she actually was kinda looking forward to seeing the two of them tomorrow. Autumn seemed friendly enough (and calm in way that couldn't possibly allow her to be another mean girl), maybe both kids would be kind to her. That would be a nice change for once.

A/N: I hated writing this so much but I did it and it's actually kinda long for once so that's nice (you don't want to know how many times the first draft of this said the word nice, it's stopped being a word in my mind and now it's just a bunch of letters, I might as while change the fic title with something having to do with nice.) Anyways, obviously the characters are a little embellished, but this is fanfic honey
