"I can't believe you convinced my Dad to let me dye my hair." Autumn exclaimed from her seat on the bathroom counter.

"I can't you convinced me to dye my hair." Said Shadow, watching Viola put hydrogen peroxide on her brown hair to bleach it. It had been about two weeks since Alva had picked up the red hair dye and Viola's dads finally felt comfortable letting her have a sleepover at the Barrett's. Emerson was okay with Alva dying their hair and even offered to help them but they didn't really feel comfortable doing something like this alone so Autumn and Viola, who had been looking for an excuse to dye their hair, were also planing on changing their protein strands to different shades of red. Autumn was planning on a darker, almost purpley shade whereas Viola went for a brighter, more orange hue. Alva had picked up a bottle that was similar to the one Gerard had pointed out, but less intense. Shadow had a bright color as well but since it was temporary and they refused to bleach their dark hair it was probably going to come out as a more pinkish color.

"Shut up, it's going to be great!"

"Yeah, whatever."

"Are you sure you don't want to bleach your hair Shadow?"

"Positive. Besides there's no way we'll be allowed to keep our hair red when school starts again so you'll just have to dye it back again."

"If your going to be such a nihilist why are you even dying your hair?"

"I'm always a nihilist." Obviously this last statement left the teens laughing, but that's usually what happened whenever Shadow and Autumn argue, neither of them take it seriously and they're almost always funny to watch unfold. It was a good friendship. And that friendship seemed to be spreading to Viola and Alva, feeling comfortable making jokes about looking like clowns as they dyed each other's hair. Once everyone's hair had product in it and was put in a shower cap or tied up in a towel, they went downstairs to have some pizza and they just talked and laughed and Autumn and Shadow got into a lot less arguments then they normally would, being distracted by talking to Viola and Alva. It was kinda weird to Alva, who kept not oppressing over how what she said would come across. It was nice, to have some mindless banter and not think so much about what to say. She just said it. Maybe this how friends are supposed to be. Not that Alva had much experience with that.
