Language, mentions of murder and brainwashing
"The Doctor what now?" Gerard asked.
"The Doctor Man. He took over Liseil after the Killjoys killed Kropp, Wentz Sr., and your grandmother," Lindsey reiterated.
"Kropp?" Emerson asked.
"Oh, yeah, Mikey's boyfriend killed his dad, your dad, and me and Mikey's grandma to avenge his younger sister and save us and Obsidian by taking down Liseil Inc." Gerard informed Emerson.
"Gerard Arthur Way! He wasn't my boyfriend!" Mikey said, seeming more horrified by that than the fact King killed anyone at all.
"That's what Frankie said," Gerard taunted back.
"I think the fact Sebastian is in charge of Liseil is more important!" Shadow cut in.
"He wouldn't do that. Wh-why would Sebastian ever...?" Emerson said.
"That's how Liseil works. They get into your mind and break you. Make you thing they're the only truth and everyone else is a lie." Said Lindsey, not looking at anyone.
"Well then we need to show him he's wrong," Shadow said, like it would be that easy.
Gerard decided this was a Killjoy matter and invited Emerson to stop by tomorrow and went home to check on the others. Mikey came with him to take Viola and whoever else wanted to come along home. Lindsey went with the Ways. She was pretty sure Jenna, Josh, and Ray could take care of Brendon but she didn't want to leave him to long after finally letting the shock of what he had seen (and how evil the company that had been his life purpose truly was) wash over him. Unfortunately she also needed to find a place where she thought her and Brendon would be safe at, seeing as Liseil would probably look for them at their apartment.
But Shadow stayed behind. To be with Emerson as the numbness started to wash over him when he ran out of tears.
The three of them sat in the living room, quietly talking.
"I can't believe Sebastian's evil. I've known him my whole live. But all those memories are fake. Sebastian probably put them in there himself," Emerson snuffled.
"I can't believe you have powers," Alva said.
"All three of us do. Or should. I probably can do the fire thing since Gerard's my biological parent. And since Emerson can do the portal thing, it makes sense that you'd be able to as well."
Both Barretts perked up at that a little. A small distraction from the horror of this world in the form of another.
"How do we do it? It just looked like Mx. and Mr. Way high fived," Alva asked.
"Well as far as I know you just touch each other, like they did. And I don't really think Gerard and Mikey mind being called just Gerard and Mikey. Then again they are kinda my Ren and Uncle so," Shadow said.
"Well it looks like I finally have some worthy opponent for role as your coolest Uncle," Emerson joked, his voice still tight from crying earlier.
"You'll alway be the coolest Uncle ever Em,"
"Well I thank you kindly, Mx. Leith," Emerson said, tipping his hat "Or is it gonna be Leith-Way or something like that?"
Shadow shrugged "I don't know, I haven't thought about it. Viola's brother's decided to take the last names of both of his dads and his biological father. And I guess technically his mom's name too, since Patrick's technically his Uncle."
"Viola has a brother?" Alva asked.
"Yeah, I guess you've been kinda out of the loop. We just didn't want to stress you with all of this stuff I guess."
"Didn't want to stress me? Is that why all of you have been ignoring me?" Alva asked. The pain in their dark brown eyes cut Shadow to shreds.
"I'm sorry, we were just kind of in shock about the powers thing, and my parents, and I don't know, it just would've been too hard to explain everything," Shadow said, feeling guilty.
"Well you seem fine explaining it to me now, just not letting me into your life when it's happening."
Shadow opened their mouth but was interrupted by their phone going off. "Sorry, it's Autumn," they said and excused themself to go talk to them, causing Alva to give them an angry scoff and storm off, because they could make time for Autumn, but never them.
No one could ever fucking make time for Alva.
