TW:honestly you should know about the kidnapping thing by now and also mentions of death
As previously stated, Brendon hates kidnapping. But he hates it so much it seems like that's a point that should be reiterated. But, none the less, Brendon found himself entering a grocery store to scout out the victim. He had seen a picture of him and the plan was to grab him from the parking lot but Brendon still want to see him in the store just to be on the safe side and be sure he didn't snatch a random brown haired 34-year-old man going into an old blue pickup truck, because that would be embarrassing. And also an awful thing to do to a person that didn't deserve it. Not to mention the Doctor Man would probably take it out on him or Dallon or Sarah or Ryan. And Brendon wasn't about to get them (or himself) in trouble and blow a chance for Liseil.
Brendon did eventually find the target in the dairy section. Only... he wasn't alone.
"This is the stuff me and Shadow we're talking about earlier. That's we had at Alva's house." Said a 14-year-old with bright dyed red hair to the man.
"Tru Moo? Okay well I guess we'll try it Vi," Said the man to the teen who was probably his kid. Wait a second! Vi?!
"Brendon?!" She said, seeing and recognizing Brendon.
"Viola!" He quickly pulled her into hug.
"Dude! I can't believe we just bumped into each other!" That of course reminded Brendon of why he was here. Was one of his bestist friends a kid of the enemy?!
"This is my internet friend, Pa. Remember I told you and Dad about Brendon and Nat." Said Viola, confirming his fears.
"Oh, yeah," Was all Mr. Joseph, before he shook hands with Brendon and introduced himself and asked "So where are your parents?"
"Oh, I just came in to get some, uh, Cheese Whiz." Said Brendon on instincts build from years of teasing Ryan.
"Cheese Whiz?"
"Yeah, and crackers." He said, not even knowing what was coming out of his mouth anymore. Ryan Ross' astral projected ghost was probably possessing him at this point. At least he hoped it was just an astral projection. They would have told him if Ryan died, right? Not even the Doctor Man would be so cruel as to not let him go to his ex-boyfriend's funeral, right? Sarah would be there, so that would be a little awkward but if anyone needed to support each other after Ryan left it would have to be them. Were Sarah and Ryan even a thing anymore? Wait Viola was inviting him to walk with them. Brendon accepted the offer and let Viola's voice distract him from his Ryan centered thoughts. Unfortunately stories about Viola's new friend's guardian choked on chocolate milk being poured in his mouth while it was filled with cereal or trying to take the weirdest photos with various items in the store to troll Nat with also distracted him from the fact he was supposed to be kidnapping one of his best friend's dad. He wasn't really sure when his subconscious decided but when he saw them loading their reuseable bags of food into the old blue pickup he just walked away with his crackers and his Cheese Whiz that made him think of Ryan Ross and he smiled anyways. Maybe he could lie to himself and the Doctor Man and maybe even Mama that he let Joseph get away cuz Viola would have been a bystander, but really, he knew he just couldn't do that to Viola. He had so few friends left, and the ones he had left mattered more then anything. And he couldn't take away their normal, happy lives from them.
