TW: violence, mild language, death, and blood

Remington remembered the place they kept him his whole childhood (or lack of one really). The place that made Remington himself. It was like the hospital Brendon had so casually strolled in with Remington tied up and gagged.

"You know, I never understood why there are chapels in hospitals," Brendon muttered as they walked though the opened doors into said chapel. Past the pews, tied to a chair on the alter like some ritual sacrifice sat Patrick Stumph he eyes were flooded with fear as he looked at Brendon. He squirmed confusedly as Brendon untied and ungagged Remington then went to undo Patrick's restraints.

"Hey don't panic, we're with the Killjoys," Remington said, easier said then done. For some reason this caused Patrick to fight even more.

"No, no!" He screamed "You need to protect the Youngbloods! Leave me and protect the Youngbloods! I can't stop-!"

He was cut off my the sound of the machinery surrounding him firing up like the fiery rage that flared in his previously desperate, scared eye.

But Brendon had already undone the straps binding him to the chair.

The change had been instantaneous as all of a sudden Patrick was filled with a murderous rage. Remington and Brendon barely had time to react. All of sudden the fight or flight took over and Remington and Brendon were running from Patrick. Waving the hook someone had attached to the bloodied stumped remains of his wrist, Patrick managed to get his hook stuck on Brendon's jacket, slowing the 14-year-old down. Brendon screamed and Remington turned and on pure instincts he punched Patrick in the other arm.

"Run, kid!" He shouted.

And Brendon tore his jacket and kept running. The automatic doors slid shut behind him, cutting on the sound of Remington's anguished scream and the sight of the tall man crumpling to the floor at Patrick's feet.

It'd be a lie to say Brendon had screamed or cried or threw up. He just stood there and gasped because damn.

"Brendon,"

He looked up at the source of the voice.

"Mama,"
