"You're making a mistake," Barclay said.

"I'm not," replied Jessie, "If there was even a small ounce of love remaining I would have fought for it. But since there isn't any remaining we need to call it quits."

"But I still feel it. I feel the same way like I did when I met you two years ago," Barclay said desperately.

Jessie sighed and said, "You may still feel it, but I don't. What's the use of bring together if only one of us is happy?"

"So you're not happy with me?"Barclay asked sadly.

"That's not what I meant," Jessie groaned.

"THEN WHAT DID YOU MEAN?" Barclay screamed. He was undoubtedly losing his patience.

"I meant that....I think we need to take a break and see other people," Jessie finally said.

Barclay stood silently for a few seconds and then sighed. He nodded his head and said, "If that's what I need to do to make you happy then I will not argue with you anymore. But remember, I still feel the same amount of love for you and my heart will fight for what rightfully belongs to it. But for now, I will let you go."

Barclay never heard from Jessie for a long time. When he did it was at a mutual friend's wedding six months later. She was alone drinking a glass of wine. When she saw him she walked towards him and they made small talk. Barclay found out that Jessie had dated many guys but was never happy and Jessie found out that Barclay had never dated since she left him so he too wasn't very happy with his love life. They realized that they would never be happy unless they were together and had each other. While they were slow dancing Jessie asked Barclay, "Can I have a second chance?"

Barclay replied, "I don't know if I can keep you happy like you want me too."

"You always kept me happy," Jessie said, "I just never realized it until I let you go and my heart took over making me realize my mistake. But it was too late by then. I don't want to lose you Barcs."

"I'll pick you up tomorrow at six. Where something casual." he said and walked away to talk to his friends leaving Jessie with a happy heart.
