A/N: imagine you and Chaz are both 21 in this

Charlie: you were finally turning 21 and Charlie had planned an amazing party for you with the boys. You and Charlie have been together since you’ll were 16, which meant 5 years now. You couldn’t have asked for a better boyfriend. He even got 1D, 5SOS and the Vamps to come for the party. Before the party started Charlie told you that he had another surprise for toy, but you wouldn't get it till later. You were dying to know what it was. He had already done so much for you that you didn't know what else it could be. Soon all the guests had arrived and the party was in full swing. Halfway through the party Charlie pld the DJ to stop playing the music and also stopped everyone else from doing whatever they were doing and diverted their attention to himself. He gestured to Casey, who brought you to where Charlie was standing i.e. right in the middle of the room. Barclay brought a chair and made you sit down. He and the other boys joined Charlie and they started to sing and it was not something you expected;

After the song ended charlie got on one knee and said, “Marry me?” pulling out the most gorgeous ring you have ever seen. Your head was in a whirl and as much as you loved charlie you said, “im sorry, but no.” and ran to your room upstairs.

Once there you took deep breaths and when you were calm you heard the door bang open.

“WHY DID YOU SAY NO?” Charlie screamed.

“Charlie I’m not ready for marriage yet,” you calmly said.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU’RE NOT READY Y/N? YOU WERE THE ONE WHO COULDN’T WAIT TILL WE GOT MARRIED,” Charlie boomed one more.

“I DIDN’T THINK YOU’D ASK ME SO SOON, I’M 21 CHARLIE I HAVE A LIFE TO LIVE.”

“YOU HUMILIATED ME IN FROMT OF MORE THAN 250 PEOPLE THE MEDIA IS HERE COVERING YOUR BIRTHDAY. HOW AM I GOING TO SHOW MY FACE TO THE NOW? EVERYONE WILL THINK I’M A LOSER!” He exclaimed, with tears in his eyes.

“You are not a loser Chaz. I love you and I want to marry you, but not right now.” You said as you put a hand on his shoulder.

“What if you take this not as an engagement ring but as a promise ring that you will marry me one day?” Charlie asked as his salty tears passed through his lips.

You smiled and said, “That would be amazing.” And he slipped the ring on your finger.
