It was Lauryn's 18th birthday today. Casey, her boyfriend had kept her surprise birthday for her at her favorite restaurant and all the boys were there with their girlfriends. It was not a party, just dinner but Lauryn was enjoying herself a lot. Casey had put a lot of effort in keeping it a secret because he is not particularly good at it.
While Lauryn was making small talk with Tiana, Reece’s girlfriend she saw someone. Someone she hadn't seen in years. It was her ex-boyfriend Cole. Lauryn and Cole didn't have a bad break up so they were still friends. When Cole saw Lauryn he made his way towards her. Lauryn stood up from her seat and everyone looked at her. Casey was not very happy when he saw Cole because he knew that he was her ex-boyfriend.
"Cole, it’s so good to see you," Lauryn said hugging him.
"It's good to see you too Lauryn," Cole said. "How you been?"
"I've been good," she said.
Casey coughed behind her and stood up.
"Oh Cole, you remember my boyfriend Casey don't you?” Lauryn said pointing to Casey. "Of course I do," Cole said shaking Casey's hand.
"Hi!" Casey said with anger in his voice.
He put his arm around Lauryn's waist and held it tight. He always became an angry young man in front of Lauryn's exes.
"We should meet up sometime Lauryn, to catch up. My number is still the same. Call me sometime. I got to go now. See you later," Cole said hugging her again.
"I'll call you," Lauryn said.
When he left Lauryn looked at Casey and said, “You're not jealous are you? Because you know I love you and not him right?"
Casey sighed and said, “I know. I just felt a bit uncomfortable. Your mine now and I just wanted him to know that. You wouldn't leave me would you?"
Lauryn kissed him and said, “Of course not. I love you."
Casey smiled and kissed her again and everyone around the table cheered.
