Jake and Jess’ wedding was only six months away and there was still so much to do. The only thing that was done was that the venue booked and Jess selected her wedding dress. Now jess couldn’t do everything by herself so she asked Jake for help.
“Jake, have you decided what flavor you want for the cake?” she asked.
“Whatever you like is fine, babe,” Jake said scrolling through twitter.
“What about your guest list?” she asked.
“Oh that will be ready in no time,” he said.
Jess groaned and said, “Have you even started with it yet?”
Jake didn’t hear her. He was too busy with his phone. Jess became frustrated so she went and grabbed Jake’s phone and said, “Did you hear me Jake?”
Jake tried to reach for his phone bur she refused to give it to him so he asked, “What’s your problem today?”
“This is OUR wedding Jake, not just mine. You’ve got to help with the planning.” Jess said slightly pissed.
“There’s still six months remaining what’s the rush,” Jake said folding his arms over his chest.
“You’re leaving for a four month tour in two weeks Jake. I need you to help me with whatever you can before you leave. I’ll have to do everything by myself while you’re gone.” Jess said on the verge of crying. The stress of wedding planning was too much for her. Her parents were living in a different country so she couldn’t ask them for help. And she couldn’t possibly ask Jake’s mom because she had to take care of Sydney.
“I’m sorry,” Jake said while hugging her and stroking her hair, “I know I haven’t been helping you and I promise I’ll get more involved. But you’ve got to understand I don’t care how the wedding is. I don’t care if the bridesmaids where purple or pink or whether we’re having chicken or beef for the main course as long as you’re the one who’s walking down the aisle on my wedding day.”
Jess smiled and said, “You’re perfect, you know that?”
