Tris's POV

The deep moaning wakes me up, tears spring up my eyes, I don't want to do this again. I don't want to see out the window.

I grab all my stuff and run down the stairs.

Everyone stares at me in horror.

I look out the window.

Oh, Oh, Oh, there's so many. So so many.

Tobais grabs my hand, "you're ready."

Is this a dream?

Will I wake up tomorrow everything up and okay?

I doubt it I doubt it.

It feels too real.

Zeke winces as he opens the door and we all start to shoot.

Millions of these things, what are they? What do they symbolize? What do they mean?

I throw shots and scream and someone steadies me, Christina.

In that moment I realize we all need each other.

I run so fast once we clear the path, Christina had to let go, I was sprinting.

Zeke runs and tells me to slow down, that only makes me want to go faster.

I run so hard it hurts my head.

I groan once I get dizzy and tilt over to the side.

Tobias steadies me.

"It's okay Tris," it's not, where are we going? Zeke isn't sloppy. I let him lead the way.

Three come in my direction, I almost slam into one. I shoot and scream, tears everywhere.

I almost died.

It's not a steady path, everything comes in our direction, all of the walkers we thought were so far away from us, are right in here.

Oh I miss home.

I miss it.

"Okay, okay it's clear, break," Zeke says, out of breath umpteenth days later.

I sit down and grab a jug, sucking the water out of it.

Zeke grabs it from me.

Then after a few milliseconds they come.

They all come our direction.

I run fast in one section of the trees.

I hear gunshots, they're so loud.

Where did they go?

I search and see three figures.

All boys, that's not them.

"Help..." I cough. Why do I sound so weak?

Why does it hurt so much in my shoulder.

"They're gone," Zeke says, "Tris where are you?"

I scream as I see the gunshot hurtling toward me.

Hot flashes go through me before it recaches my leg.

I see him, it's Peter.

"What'd I ever do..." I spit, blood comes out of my mouth.

"YOU," my voice cracks, "you-killed me," the last word a moan.

They turn the other direction and run.

This feels like the end.

His blue eyes are the last thing I see.

Tobias's POV

A giant scream fills the air, it belongs to Tris.

I run through the trees.

I shoot a person running away and he falls to the ground, I hit his head.

Worry about that later, Tobias.

I look at the limp body in the ground, blood surrounding her.

Blood is a strange color.

I sit over her, looking at her closing her eyes, for what looks like would be the last time.

I prop her head up.

A giant moan escapes me.

Tears fall out in all directions.

I grab into her shirt, into her flesh and grab the bullet out of her shoulder.

I grab the one out of her leg and sob.

She's not opening her eyes.

I press my ear to her small chest.

She is so strong. Even when is, is not a word to describe her now.

She's gone.

Is now becomes was.

That's death, shifting is to was.

She was strong.

I tuck some of her lose strands behind her ear.

I don't dare use words.

This is how Tris should be remembered, just like this.

The strong selfless person she is-was.

I kiss her forehead, slowly.

I'm not aware of who's around me or what's being said. How bad this world is.

I'm thinking about how her eyes are not opening.

Her beautiful awake pale blue eyes, I'll never see them again.

I'll never see them again.

I'll never see them again.

ILL NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN.

I kiss her mouth roughly.

Nothing.

I let go of her head and set her up gently.

"I love you, still, no matter what, okay? Don't forget that wherever you are."

I stand up, sniff, grab my stuff and start walking.

We pass over the guy I shot when we walk away from the forest of trees and blood.
