Scares

You walk down the long, narrow hallway with the softened concrete floors in an area backstage at an awards show, in hopes of locating Shawn, your boyfriend.

The two of you have been playing hide and seek, and he's really good at it, because he always finds you in a matter of two minutes, but it takes you forever to find him. Or maybe it's just that you're bad at it. Either way, you've been searching for six minutes and he's nowhere to be found.

"Shawn?" you yell, your nothing but void. "I give up Shawn!"

Suddenly, you hear a cute, small little giggle coming from behind you.

You spin around, quick and eager. Your eyes drift around the surrounding area, but you don't see him anywhere. You could've sworn you heard him.

"Shawn?" you inch closer towards where you came from. " ...Hello?"

All of a sudden, out of nowhere, Shawn jumps out from behind a black curtain replacing a wall, yelling "boo!" and causing you to trace back and scream in horror.

You cover your mouth in shock, as he bends over and laughs. Pulling your hand down, you smile and laugh.

"You turd!" you exclaim, playfully punching him in the side. "I can't believe you would do that to me!"

He chuckles again lightly, "I wanted to hear you laugh!"

He spins around and slowly fixes the curtain, his shoes squeaking on the polished concrete floor. "I love hearing you laugh, cuddlebug."

"Well that was rude," you cross your arms over your chest, trying to contain your laughter. It was almost impossible around him. He was always pulling goofy charades in attempt to get you to crack a giggle, attempts that usually result in triumph on his end, sending him over the edge.

He yawns softly as he walks over to you, enveloping you into a bear hug and squeezing your clenched body tightly.

"I'm sorry," he scoffs, his pearly whites exposed. "You're so adorable, though. I just couldn't help myself."
