heroes

what was so special about them?
what made them different from others?
why were they admired?

i never understood why izuku wanted to be
one, why he'd squeal out of excitement
whenever one of them would come on tv,
why he always imagined himself to be one,
why he'd always pack his room with figurines
of one specific blonde hero named all might.

i don't like heroes.

they didn't want to genuinely save people.
they wanted the praises they got, the money,
the fame.

they always wanted something.
they never saved people just because.
there was always something to be gotten
after doing a righteous duty.

but that's the same thing as villains.
they did horrible things because
they wanted something.

whether it was money or revenge
or a whole new society.

i've always found it strange.
heroes were just people.
people who fought other people for
what they believed to be was bad things.

weren't they same?

heroes and villains
they're all just people at the end of the day.
both filled with good and evil.
both corrupted with the idea that their
views and ideals were better than the others.

heroes corrupted society with their insufferable need to find justice in everything.

heroes corrupted my brother.

i'll never forgive them.

never
