-11- The first night

Because it was already night and we were tired, we went to bed after we had a look around the house in peace and quiet. As Wang Han had said, there's a king size bed in the bedroom.

If you want, it can sleep four people in it, that' s how big it is. It is made of solid wood, has a good slatted frame and a very comfortable mattress that promises a peaceful and restful sleep.

But before we went to sleep, we unpacked our suitcases and took showers one after the other. I was already in bed when Zhan came out of the bathroom after he finished showering.

Zhan slipped under the big blanket that we have to share and turned around to me. I try not to stare at him, but that works more badly than right. Which is probably because my heart is beating so hard that it almost hurts. And he scents so lovely. He has applied balm to his lips and they are really shiny. So much that I can't stop looking at them.

"How was your last week?" Zhan asks me, I guess he assumes I'm not ready or able to sleep yet.

"Oh, very stressful. Busy with training and appointments. We were so knocked out in the evening that we always fell asleep right away. How was your week?"

"Similar. We even had this one shoot in the night. We only went to bed just before five in the morning and had to get up again at eight o'clock. In the evening we were all so exhausted that we almost fell asleep at dinner."

"Yes, I know days and nights like that. When we started with Uniq, it was the same. But one day there was trouble. I wasn't yet 18 years old and so we weren't allowed to do any more shoots at night. The others in my group were very grateful that I was so young."

"Hey Yibo, tell me. What do you think about the fact that the production seems to be favoring us? I mean, we're the only ones who got a song they wrote especially for us."

"I don't know. I read through the lyrics and there was also a USB stick with the melody on it, both together sound great. It also said that they would take us to a studio on Wednesday where we would sing the song and it would be recorded. Seems like they see a potential in us that they can do more than just keep the ratings up."

"Mm. I think they could earn a gold nose at us."

"They already do with the show anyway. I read that the show is very popular. And they have a special website where they publish everything about us. And in a block above us, they upload all the videos that we record or the camera crew. At least that's what it says on the website. Luckily, there aren't cameras everywhere in the house."

"How do you feel about the fact that they see us as a couple or want to see us as a couple?"

"I don't know. I mean, we're not a couple, we're just barely friends. But we obviously seem like a couple to them."

"Yeah, I know, we're just friends."

"You say that like it's a bad thing."

"That's not what I meant ZhanZhan."

"Then what did you mean?"

"Nothing more. It's okay. We should go to sleep now. It's been a long day and I'm really very tired."

"Yeah, me too. Well, good night, Yibo."

"Sleep well ZhanZhan."

We turned our backs to each other and shortly after that I heard Zhan snoring softly. I turned to him and stroked his hair. It was hard not to tell him that I hoped for more than friendship.

Even if it is hard for me, I still have to be patient.

I know I shouldn't do it, but I couldn't resist slipping closer to Zhan. I just had to be close to him. It was nice to have him so close to me and even feel his warmth.

But when he suddenly turned around in his sleep, my heart almost stopped and I didn't dare to move a muscle. Because suddenly he lay directly in my arms and cuddled up to me.

Only after half a minute I breathed again and carefully closed my arms around him, which made him nestle even closer to me. And while I held him like this, firmly in my arms and pressed against my body, I fell asleep and slept as calmly as I had not for a very long time.

In the morning, or rather forenoon, I woke up slowly and wondered why I could not move. Until I realized that Zhan was on top of me and I was holding him.

Gently I opened my eyes and stroked Zhan's head, which was lying on my chest. He wrapped his arms around my waist and he slept peacefully and quietly on top of me. I wish we could go on like this forever and just hold him in my arms.

I closed my eyes again and fell asleep again. About two hours later I woke up. I groped for Zhan, but he was no longer there. He had already got up and was obviously making some food. Anyway, it smelt delicious.

After I stretched a few more times, I got up as well and went into the bathroom. I freshened up, brushed my teeth and got dressed. Then I went into the kitchen where a smiling Zhan greeted me.

"Hey slept well? Sorry I snuggled up on you that night. I hadn't done it on purpose. I hope I didn't keep you up at night."

"Absolutely not. I slept great. You're welcome to snuggle up with me again." I said so with a stupid grin.

At first I thought he was pretending that nothing was happening. But the opposite was the case.

"Okay, if you're hungry, sit down. I cooked a little bit. I saw earlier that we have a pantry, and it's full of stuff."

I went to Zhan and hugged him. I don't know why, but I just felt like it, and Zhan returned the hug. I think I just wanted to hold him because I was and am so happy that I can be alone with him for a few days.

Two years ago when I fell in love with him, I wished I could meet him at least once. And almost everyone had something against my feelings for Zhan. Almost everyone talked to me and reminded me of my career.

And now? Now I even spend several days alone with him. And I will never again let anyone tell me that my career is more important than my heart!

From now on I listen to my heart and I will never let anyone try to talk me into it again. For the first time I have the chance to win Zhan over and I'm definitely going to take that chance!
