Winning is everything, that has always been the motto of Wang Yibo. And the new International Competition is a perfect opportunity for him to prove once again that he is the absolute winner.
But what if, his secret crush is one of his opponents?
Doe...
After we made love, we spent the rest of the Monday and also half of the Tuesday in bed. Except for the moments when we had to make food for ourselves. Because, unfortunately, no delivery service comes here.
And even if a delivery service would come, I have to admit that Zhan and I completely missed the chance to ask what this place is even called. We obviously only had each other in our minds.
Tuesday afternoon the production management called us and explained that they had decided to bring our duet for the new song and our individual songs to the show's grand finale after all.
So we still had the remaining Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to find a suitable song for us and to practice it. On Wednesday we'll probably only have half a day, because the recording studio where our song will be recorded is in Beijing and it will take us two hours to get there, and then we'll have to drive back in the evening traffic when everybody wants to go home.
So we were faced with the question, which song should we take? And when we finally decided on one, we had to get the lyrics, the melody and only then we could start rehearsing.
So the Tuesday afternoon and the evening went by in a flash and when we left the rehearsal room it was already after two o'clock in the night. So we went into the bedroom and went straight to bed.
On Wednesday at half past eight a driver picked us up and we drove to Beijing instead of the two hours, almost three hours. In the recording studio there was a delay due to technical problems and when finally, after about 100 minutes, everything was running, we could start.
First we recorded our solo songs and then the duet. Four and a half hours later we were finished. Our driver came a half hour later to pick us up and then we were stuck in a traffic jam for about one hour.
When we finally arrived at the wooden house, it was already evening and dark. We had eaten nothing more than a sandwich and had to cook first. We ate quickly and then we went back to the rehearsal room and that about until one o'clock in the night.
Completely exhausted we only fell into the bed and fell asleep immediately. Time for kisses and tenderness? Zero, since Tuesday afternoon!
Thursday was not very loving either. First we had to take a shower, then get dressed, have breakfast, pack our suitcases, rehearse, cook dinner, send out the video material, answer interview questions that were sent to us, rehearse, eat dinner and go to bed at about 10 pm, because we were told that a driver would pick us up at eight in the morning.
And so we had spent and wasted our last days without being able to use them for ourselves. Now we can only hope that the audience wants to see us together again as a duo next week. But what if not?
I do not want to think about it yet, because the thought makes me sick. What if the audience decides that we should get other partners for our duet?
What if they don't like our song? And what about the videos of us? Do the viewers like us acting together? Right now I'm just helpless and afraid and I can't think of anything else than what would happen if we get separated?

In Beijing
We have just arrived in Beijing and they took us to the hotel to the others. We have to split up for the time being, because we have to go to our groups and rehearse with them a little bit for the evening together.
Because our groups have besides the duets still a performance.
My people greet me exuberantly and bombard me with questions like, where did they take us, how often was the camera team with us, how much time did we spend rehearsing and so on.
But before I can answer even one question, my manager comes and tells us that there is still time to ask questions later, now it is more important to practice. And he was right. Because one thing hadn't changed in the last days, my will to win!
After a hard warm-up training I already regret not having trained in the past days. We practice our dance steps first without singing and then with them. And we repeat the whole thing for about two hours until lunch. Everything went perfectly.
In the restaurant of the hotel we order a light lunch and I look for XNINE, well, actually only for Zhan among all the groups. But they just did not show up.
When I left the restaurant, I heard that the manager of XNINE had looked for another hotel for the group.
Apparently some of the XNINE group and some other members from other groups stayed in the hotel and there was some kind of problem. Which is why Zhan's management decided to move the group somewhere else.
I tried to call Zhan, but his phone was turned off. He had already complained on the way to Beijing that something was wrong with his phone battery. I guess it just died now. I won't be able to see or speak to Zhan until this evening.
We went back to training after dinner and continued until late afternoon. Then it was time to shower, get dressed, pack a bag for the performance and off to the studio. Once there we were interviewed like before, there was a photo shooting and the rehearsals for the evening. So everything as usual.
Between 6 and 7 pm we had time for dinner. But unlike the last time, XNINE didn't eat with us. They had probably already been there, or they are not allowed to go to the cafeteria before we go.
Either way, I missed Zhan and I wanted to finally see him again. Of course, we couldn't show anything, but at least I wanted to be able to see him. But unfortunately I had to wait until the show started.
And when the show started, I was really surprised. Because there were two music groups less. The men's group from France and the women's group from Germany. So I immediately asked myself how many changes there would be now?
After all, the women's group from Germany consisted of twelve members and the men from France had also been eight. Twenty people less in this competition might be good for the other groups, but probably not for the show.
I asked Wenhan if he knew anything because he had been with a Frenchman in the past days. But he just said this: "I don't know either. On Tuesday evening some of the production team came along and told us that our duet was cancelled and then they took us to the hotel. Afterwards there was a big noise in the hotel. Two of XNINE tried to mediate and one of them got hurt and now he's in hospital. But what exactly happened and how it happened, I don't know."
I didn't say it out loud, but I think Wenhan could see that I was glad that Zhan was with me at that time and not in the hotel. Because apparently it looks like some people take the competition even more seriously than me. So important that they get physical and hurt others.
When we were called on stage, I was glad to finally see Zhan again. Unfortunately we were sitting further apart and so I could neither talk to him nor hold his hand like last week.
And because we had to pretend that there was nothing between us, we were not allowed to look at each other all the time. Zhan looked at me only once, smiled briefly and after the remaining six groups had their performances, the duets followed.
