Chapter 7: The Story of the Sun Hat

Your POV

After my awesome battle, Piers battled. He didn't do as well with the challenge, you can probably guess why. But he did amazing in the pokemon battle. "Now that everyone is done, we can leave," I spoke up, our group had decided to stay at the gym stadium until everyone finished so we could see if we won or not. "Yup let's get to route 5(?), I'm itching to get home." Nessa was practically running out the door from impatience. "And I thought Leon was impatient," Piers mumbled half to himself.

I turned around to go find Milo, he wanted to say goodbye to gym leader Arin. Since the helpers had left after everything was done for the day, I freely went to the back. "Milo, you here?" I called, looking around the challenge area. "Over here. We're by the Wooloo pens." I heard his gentle voice sound, quickly running over to the said place. "Hey, we need to get going soon. I hate to scare you but, we might get caught in the dark." I informed him as I leaned on a fence post.

"Oh gosh, well I gotta go now, bye Mr. Arin." He said his farewells to the older man. We started walking back, "Hey why are you so close to Arin?" I asked. He looked confused, "I thought I told you that already," He chuckled, "guess I didn't. Might as well tell you."

(Flashback Milo's POV)

I heard that the gym leader, Arin, was coming back from a trip, so I rushed to the stadium with my poster in hand. "Oh, that crowd sure will be hard to get through. Guess I'll just squeeze past them." I quickly squished my tiny body past the adults.

I ran into Mr. Arin and fell back, "Mr. Arin?" I said from the ground. "Hm? Oh hey, there kid." He waved and crouched down in front of me, I got really nervous from well... My idol is looking face to face with me! "U-ummm e-err, I-I'm you're b-biggest fan and I was w-wondering... I-I was wondering if y-you could-" I stuttered like a kid afraid of his own shadow.

"Say no more, I can do ya something better." He smiled and took off his sun hat, gently placing it over my fluffy hair. "W-wow." I breathed out as the hat fell over my face, I fixed it back and saw Mr. Arin handing me the poster I brought. "WOW THAN-" I was cut off by a hand placed on my shoulder.

"There's no need to thank me, you got a special look in your eyes I haven't seen since I was your age. I believe that you'll do great things when you're older, now run along I think I hear your mother calling, don't want to keep her waiting." He smiled warmly and I smiled back, leaving to go find mom.

(End of flashback Your POV)

"Wow really? I wondered why that hat was so special." I tipped his hat slightly with my index finger, he laughed softly and pushed my hand away. "Speaking of wondering, where's Zigzagoon?" I was really dumbfounded at that, Zigzagoon was always with Milo and if he wasn't you'd know. He pulled out a Pokeball, "I managed to get him to stay in a Pokeball, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do the gym challenge." What he said was shocking, my eyes widened as I stared blankly at the Pokeball. "How did you manage that?" I breathed out, getting that hyperactive pokemon in a Pokeball was no small feat. "I told him how happy he would make me if he did." He responded shortly, "That pokemon would go to the ends of the earth for you, you know that." I pointed out. "I know that honestly, it's good to know I can put my full trust in my pokemon." He smiled and put the Pokeball back on his holster.

Once we got back to the lobby, Nessa approached me and smiled. Coming close to my face, she whispered, "I think I know who Milo likes." My face heated on its own, "And you are telling me because?" I murmured back. "You really haven't figured it out yet? I won't tell you anything though, it's really obvious." She smirked and walked off.

"That was weird." I had a confused look etched in my (s/c) toned face. "What was weird?" I heard Milo ask from behind me, "N-nothing!" I spluttered out, terribly embarrassed. He gave a concern filled look but 'okays ' and dropped it.

What is this feeling about him? I don't know anymore.
